A vote is a vote.

Voting for someone is supporting them whether that is the intention or not.

Nope. And I have no regrets. I have voted GOP 95% (And 4% libertarian) of the time, but the powers that be in the GOP have lost their minds, playing to some stupid "base". I am actually going democrat not only for president, but will probably vote dem for TX senator. Cornyn has been a HUGE disappointment the last 6 or 7 months. The GOP needs a big loss to clean house of these populist and nationalist assholes.

Reagan would not be happy with these people.

Agree that he should let the others handle the press briefings on the virus.

Ok and I could very well be. I've never read that thread. Apologies if I'm wrong. That must be the only thread where you don't bash this administration.

I find it interesting that you complain about the GOP "playing" to a "base" with no mention of the ridiculous democrats "playing" to their "base"

Why? At the end of the day they are ALL shitty ass corrupt politicians that couldn't give a fuck about us.

The only thing they care about is getting re-elected so they can continue to enrich themselves.

And you're going to a party which is demonstrably worse? I submit that you've been a republican in name only. You are pretty liberal and there is nothing wrong with that, just call it what it is.

I look forward to your official Democratic registration!

You don't register in Texas.
I've not "gone" to another party. I still hold republican ideas, and will vote for them when they don't violate basic moral and/or ethical norms.

The GOP of Trump can't be the new norm. Its just damn unamerican and unintelligent.

To vote in Texas, you must be registered. Simply pick up a voter registration application, fill it out, and mail it at least 30 days before the election date. Get your application here. You are eligible to register to vote if:

You are a United States citizen;
You are a resident of the county where you submit the application;
You are at least 17 years and 10 months old, and you are 18 years of age on Election Day.
You are not a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole); and
You have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

DOH!! That's not what you said, but I'll play your game:

General Affiliation Questions

How does party affiliation work in Texas?

In Texas, there are several main ways for a voter to affiliate with a party: by being accepted to vote in a party’s primary election, by taking the required oath at a party precinct convention, or by taking a party oath of affiliation generally (§§162.003, 162.006, 162.007). A voter’s affiliation with a party automatically expires at the end of each calendar year, which is December 31. (§162.010). A voter who has affiliated themselves with a party is ineligible to participate in the party affairs of another party during the same calendar year. (§§162.012, 162.013)

If a voter has not voted in a party primary or taken an oath of affiliation with a party this calendar year, they have not yet affiliated with any party. If a voter has not yet affiliated with a party, they are able to vote in either party’s primary election. However, if a voter votes in the primary of one party, they will only be able to vote in that party’s primary runoff election. (§§162.012, 162.013) After being affiliated with a party, a voter is not able to change or cancel their party affiliation until the end of the calendar year. (§162.010)

How can I change my party affiliation?

After affiliating with a party by voting in a party’s primary or by taking an oath of affiliation with a party, a voter cannot change their party affiliation during the calendar year. (§162.010) However, affiliation will automatically expire at the end of the calendar year.

So much work, so much wasted time on your part. If you're going to join the conversation in a thread, read all the posts pertaining to what the people have said. You seem to have problems with that.

Let us know if you have anything relevant to say sometime in the future. Besides appreciating alt-right posts.

SakhirM4 literally posted the actual information about party affiliation and you deflect, dismiss, and insult. Very poor form.

You seem to have as much reading comprehension difficulty as sakmir.

We were talking about political affiliations, and he jumped in with the voter registration crap.

Again, you've missed the gist of the conversation that me and MK had. MK said I Should register as a Democrat. I said I don't register in Texas.Sakmir jumped in showing that I did have to register to vote. Meaning he did not perceive what we were talking about correctly.

You, MK, and sakmir are 0-3 for on this one.

The irony, of course, is sakmir has accused me and others of being liars. Yet he seems to be the biggest fan of Trump, the president who far outstrips any other president, or politician, we have had when it comes to being deceitful..

RD should run for a political office. I don’t know why I bother. I tell myself I won’t get sucked in but it’s like a train wreck. I just can’t look away and not call you out.

You, MK, and sakmir are 0-3 for on this one.

The irony, of course, is sakmir has accused me and others of being liars. Yet he seems to be the biggest fan of Trump, the president who far outstrips any other president, or politician, we have had when it comes to being deceitful..
RD, you are just an amazing piece of work

You are the only one that I have called a liar and it was truthful. See, you just lied right there. Secondly, I am not a huge fan of Trump - I just voted for him and I am not a fan of spending my existence tearing down the POTUS.

Your arrogance far outstrips Trumps actions on a daily basis and is far worse than I have ever run into in my 72 years on this planet. I believe that you have issues that should be addressed professionally.

The misunderstanding between you all is hilarious. Just clarify what you wrote. Here I’ll do it for you:

1. MK says he looks forward to CB’s registration as a Democrat.
2. CB says voting does not require registration. He implicitly means that one is not required to register a party affiliation to vote.
3. MK understandably misconstrues CB’s post and assumes CB means that one does not need to register to vote.
4. Insults fly.

It’s like moderating children.
