No GPS on Waze while on CarPlay

Now that Waze is available on CarPlay. It does not seem to work on the CarPlay of my G30. Every time I use Waze on CarPlay, the phone says NO GPS, showing approximate location. Disconnect from the car and GPS magically appears. I'm thinking its more of a BMW issue rather than a Waze issue. Anybody experiencing the same?

Works totally fine. I'd try restoring the phone to factory settings and running the latest update again.

Mine works too.
As a first step, just delete and reinstall the Waze app on your phone.

Does your car have apple carplay or NBT EVO retrofitted? It seems that this issue is occuring on most retrofitted systems.

The latest Waze update allows a GPS lock to occur but I find that if you go on a road that is not on the stock BMW Maps (making my GPS go haywire) then Waze loses signal again.

Yoooo just got my "19" MSport. And the bmw Genius said they disabled police On waze. Btw My wireless CarPlay waze is working perfect. That's EFFF'ed up

Navigation was standard with the car, CarPlay was added later on

Now you have it, iOS 12 opened up for third party maps so Google Maps and Waze are among compatible options.

The police notifications don’t pop up. But they do show on the dashboard navigation while in CarPlay mode. The icons are still big and easy to read.
