Metallic chain rattle noise low rpm

Anyone else notice a lite rattle or sound of a chain hitting metal from 800-2000rpm? My 750 had same sound and my M550 has done since day one and just wondered if others hear it too? It's not anything like piston slapping or severe like that, but just a noise that I always hear and end up focusing on. Just curious if it's a characteristic noise with Bmw V8's

Exhaust flap or resonator baffle. I had baffle do this in my charger. One day it just quit...

No, doesn't sound right. I hear a bit of a chain on metal noise on cold start (exhaust components?), but not after car is on.
