Guys was thinking of doing a custom exhaust for my G30 540i just to save a little bit on cost. I was wondering if anyone here did that? Do you like how it turned sound wise? Does it drone? I have no issues getting the Remus if that's the better option. Just trying to see if the cheaper option would be good as well.

Would a resonator delete be a better option than a muffler delete on a 540? I already have the valve open. Conflicted on which to remove. Hearing mixed opinions from others. Some say do a muffler delete because the sound deadening in our cars are amazing, it won't drone. Resonators delete will drone, etc.

I'd recommend doing only a resonator delete. If you remove the muffler at the rear it will sound horrible, very raspy. Also turbo cars do benefit from having a muffler as it adds back pressure. Also a custom exhaust would run you the same price as the Remus catback if you get it done from a proper shop.
