M550 Tire Issues - For those who reside in the Northeast

Hey Folks,

Just curious how people's experiences have been with the 20" setup as far as bubbles/pops, etc... in the northeast.

I have had some clients tell me they fly through tires in their M550s as they're very prone to bubbles.

One client even told me he has had 39 (no typo here) tires replaced in 3 years on his 2018 (keep in mind he has no reason to make that up).

All that said, I am wondering how experiences have been. While many immediately dismiss any products sold in the finance office, wheel and tire could be a good option for peace of mind if the car could go through 1-2 tires/year over a 3 year lease.

Thanks in advance!
Mike

I've had two bubbles front winter tires but it may have been due to not enough air pressure in the cold. On summer tires, there have never been any bubbles even though I have had bent rims.

Thank you!

That’s been my experience in my Jag.

Summers have been great. Bubbled/Popped 3 winters (245/35 R 20s)

Due to this experience I may run a nice all season on the m550 this winter as opposed to snow tires.

first thing I did for my m550 change tires to G12 spec. 245 45 19 fronts / 275 40 19 rears DWS tires no issues after that , as far 20 inch I run 275 35 20 square on M5 rims .

Hi. Just drive a 530i with 20s. No issues after 10 months. Touch wood. Mixed driving mainly in comfort

If your car has bubble / blowout issues and the Goodyear asymmetric 3 installed, cut your loses, remove all 4 and replace with Michelin Pilot Sport 3ZP. You'll have a far better experience.
