Ambient Lighting not set up right - Need advice

Hey folks,

I was recently in a buddys G30 at night and when I got back into my own G30 I noticed that my interior ambient lighting isnt set up right correctly. As you'll see in the image when you set the ambient lighting to White+Colour the top of the trim lights in colour when it should be the bottom part. I bought the car used but part of the deal was that the trim be replaced by the dealership as there was a mark on it. Im guessing when the replaced the trim something went wrong. Any idea's if this an easy fix? Maybe its a wiring mix up.

Going back to the dealership isnt an option for now im afraid.

Seems to me the control for the strips is reversed. I'd try to have the dealer repair it.

If you're handy, try taking off the trim. There must be some YouTube videos on taking off trim...

But, if possible, wait until you see the dealer and just get it fixed. It'll save you some aggravation.

My ambient light across the dash was not lighting completely, took it to dealer and they replaced the entire dash trim piece but lit like yours when selecting the multiple color option.

They verified the lights were correctly mounted in the trim then ran an 'interior light test plan' to assign the lights the correct location. Works perfect now.

Can someone please share a photo of their ambient lighting at night?
Just curious if the light strip on the dash runs all the way from passenger left to right - or is it 'off' at the ends?

thank you

It should light up end to end. If it looks off as it comes to the left of the infotainment screen and towards the passenger door, the bar is broken.

a follow up - light strip replaced and have full edge to edge lighting.

when dimmed for night driving, the edges are off - and they were so uniformly off they looked normal
