TPMS programming Alternate Wheel Set

What procedure or Code Tools does someone need to program TPMS wheels when you pull OEM wheels and put on an alternate set?

About to pull trigger on full wheel tire package from CarId that is delivered mounted and balanced.

Information appreciated...

Just drive your car and the new TPMS will be detected

What about aftermarket TPMS? Same procedure/process?

It should, except if the TPMS are totally blank. But if you bought TPMS for BMW, no need to do anything.

Sorry for delay.... I had to get replacement wheels due to shipping damage.

With warm weather, I will swap to summer tires/wheels next week.

Yes. TPMS is sensed... They are aftermarket BMW compatible.

When you change tires, you go to Vehicle Settings screen. Then select Tires Settings at the bottom. BMW has Winter Tire and Summer Tire default set. I believe you can edit tire size, but I didn’t need to. After this the car will ask you to drive. Takes about 10 minutes for it to recognize and calibrate new tire PSI.

Very Cool... and as usual, I mounted tires...thought...”what did I forget?” So I drove off and pressure was low... doh!

sorry for bumping an old post, but I'll be putting the summer wheels (previously installed on this same vehicle) back on soon and am tempted to just do it myself instead of $300/season for install/storage.
Am I reading correctly that the vehicle that requires a new BATTERY to be programmed will actually learn new wheels on its own?

Is it same TPMS sensor for F30 318d (2017) and G30 520d (2017)?

When you swap the wheels and start driving you will get a pop-up in your iDrive that a wheel change has been sensed, asking you to specify the type of tires that are installed. Or you can just go into the iDrive menu, tire pressure sensor monitor, and enter the new tire info before driving off. Either way, once you enter that info it will ask you to drive around for a few minutes while it re-calibrates itself to the new wheels. Done.
