BMW 540ix immediately available - Eastern PA - under MSRP

I ordered this vehicle for my mother in February, but had been bumped for production for many times due to the war, and now finally produced. She has since moved on to an i4 eDrive40, so we are not going to take delivery of this 5er .

For anyone interested in this vehicle, please PM me. I Would like to recover my broker fee paid to secure the deal on the vehicle ($600), but this secures you the vehicle UNDER MSRP. Car is currently at the dealership and is available for immediate purchase/lease.

If I had to bet, I would say 2022 considering if it really gets here in 2 - 3 weeks. My 2022 was built on the last week of June and is still stuck on the "at the port" status =)

It's a 2022, I caught his cross-post in the for sale forum after asking.

sorry, the vehicle is a 2022. I don't think anything MY2023 has rolled off the line and onto a boat yet.

My iXM60 was built 6/15, and was at the port before the 540, yet the 540 and i4 are on the same boat and the iX is with your 5er in Bremerhaven waiting for the next boat to Jersey City

Car will reach port his Sunday, and should be to the dealer by the end of next week, or the beginning of the following week.

Any interest here before I tell the broker I'm not moving forward, and the dealer lists it for sticker or MSRP+ADM?

The 540 has arrived as of today at Port in NJ and is awaiting transport to the dealership. I would expect it should be there by the end of this week/beginning of next week at the very latest.

Vehicle has landed at the dealership and is ready to be delivered. It is immediately available. Please PM me if you are interested.

On Monday I will advise them we are not taking the vehicle and it will then become part of dealership inventory sold above MSRP.

I worked for a dealer, so I am not quite sure how you would do this. It is the dealer's car (they pay BMW for it as soon as it arrives at the dealership, sometimes even earlier), so unless you actually buy it, pay the taxes and fees, title it in your name and take it off the lot, the car remains theirs. If you buy it, then a new buyer would be buying a used car from you and have to pay taxes on it again (depending on the state). If you don't buy the car, the dealer can then sell it to whomever it wants. Hopefully you have a good relationship with the dealer and if you don't want the car you can help influence the process so if someone here wants it the dealer will be fair on pricing for the new buyer. That being said, it was certainly nice of you to make it known that the car may be available, and hopefully someone here will benefit from this. Good luck with it. --Bob

From what I am reading, he went through a broker for this deal, therefore it is basically the broker's discretion who they sell it to. At least this is my assumption.

Exactly ... doesn't matter anyway. It's for sale $2k markup at the dealership now. Nobody bit, so as I stated I was advising the dealership it was theirs and we were walking away as of Monday AM

What's funny is she wouldn't let me build the 540 the right way (ie. ///M-Sport, DHP, Shadowline Ext. Trim, etc.) ... but the i4 on the otherhand ... she does a complete 180.

Portimao Blue on Cognac, M-Sport, Extended Shadowline, every option! Go figure

sounds like she has style! i4 is aggressive looking and needs the sports styling to compliment.

I 100% agree .... I guess I'm finally starting to rub-off on her!

At the beginning of this whole process in February 22 I found her a mint 740ix ///Msport in Singapore Grey on Tarfufo Merino, loaded to the walls with 5k miles on the clock. She bitched about the shadowline trim, and the "sporty styling" and it "was too much for Grandma"! lol

My dealership has a big sign on the exterior of the building (very visible from the main road) that says "Nothing over MSRP".

Interesting, to me, is that the BMW store is part of a collection of luxury stores and I didn't see a similar sign on the others.

I can't imagine turning down that 740ix. Sounds awesome

The 540 that you ordered is a very attractive build. I can't imagine why your mother would turn this car down for an i4 ! The G30-540 is so much more comfortable (especially with Comfort or Multi-contour seats) than any 3 Series, 4 Series, or i4. The i4 has the same hard Sport seats as the 3 or 4 Series !!! All round visibility and rear seat space are much better in the G30 compared to i4.

The 540 also has more than twice the highway driving range of the i4 !!!

Come visit the Northeast... Here in the Rape Me state, I mean Garden State, dealers are smoking some real great stuff! I found an i4M50 at a different dealership, $10k over MSRP.

Most dealerships are charging 1-2k markups on non ///M cars and $5-7.5k markup on real M models. Electrics are commanding the same markup in this market.

I've had several 5 series myself in the past. Personally I don't want anything below an X5 or 5 series ever again as a daily. She was happy with the dynamics of the i4 after waiting 5 months for the 5er to arrive. She doesn't ever have anyone besides herself or my father in the car and doesn't travel more than 100 miles round trip in any one journey

The seats are what do it for me. Had a 330 loaner recently. I will never purchase anything that is that uncomfortable as a daily driver. They should offer an upgrade for those seats.
