Will do, ordered on 12 May, all black:
Black sapphire Nappa black DA+ Exec pkg Cold weather 20" Michelin PSS go flats with spare 19" winter wheels & tires Dynamic dash Night vision Dealer will apply window tint First time I ever custom ordered a car. Wife custom ordered a couple of MINI's before she went to a M235. I have been driving a 335GT and it has been good, but wife's car is a blast to drive and I hope this one is too. |

As of 7/1/18 my car is still sitting in Baltimore. Work order started for port installed rocker decals. Been in this status since Friday PM. If it's not headed out on a carrier tomorrow AM, my guess is that I won't see it until Fri or Sat this week.

Genius says this morning that it's leaving Baltimore on Sat, getting to the dealer on Monday, July 9th. If that's the case (and it better be!) it will be exactly two months from order (May 9th) to delivery. (July 9th)

As of this morning, mine is still there too! WTF? Takes 14 days to travel 3500 miles across the Atlantic and then sits in Baltimore for the next 12 days and goes nowhere I don't get it. |

I think part of the problem may be the wait for the truck to be filled with other cars headed to nearby locations. That can take a while in port if not enough cars are heading in same direction?

Maybe - although Rotherd31 and I are about 130 miles apart.
I can't help but wonder if the truck driver shortage, July 4th holiday, etc. are the cause. I hope it isn't due to damage in transit. My CA has told me late last week that mine was in the "final stages" and a trucking company had been assigned, but he had not received an ETA. |

I think you're onto something Tom. Wouldn't surprise me if quite a few drivers didn't just take the entire week of the 4th as vacation. Ksoze probably has a good point too.

Dealer called and the car came in first thing this morning on Friday, 7/13. It did end up being my lucky day! Washed and waxed at home in my garage and spent the next few hours driving it around the area. More impressions in a few days. Too busy driving it right now. A few pics.

Rotherd31 how are you enjoying the M550 compared to the M4?
My M550 arrived at the dealer Tue afternoon and I saw her yesterday. The windows are tinted and she is ready to go, except she is wearing the 19" winter wheels & tires instead of the 20" Michelin PSS go flats. The summer tires were a no show, so we are waiting on the summer tires before I take delivery. I spent 30 minutes drooling, what a beauty! |

I have no idea how you aren't going nuts waiting!!! Well, I've had mine 6 days now and just turned 1200 miles! Just got back yesterday from a 500 mile two day trip up to northern Mi. Absolutely love the car! Not one second missing the M4. Drove M22 twice while up north. If you're not familiar with the road, it's one of the best driver's roads in Michigan and I've been on a bunch of them. The car is off the chart for comfort compared to the M4 and not as much loss in the handling department as one might think. And if all this is not enough, 32.6 MPG on the trip. With the note that it was all two lane travel with the cruise set at 62 MPH indicated, except a 35 mile stretch on the freeway coming home with the cruise set at 75 MPH. To say I am content, pleased, impressed and tickled is an understatement! |

Rotherd31,
Thanks for the response. I haven't been to northern MI but that sounds like fun. We may take a few days and try that. I see M22 is up the coast. Glad you are enjoying the car and I am sure I will too. We will drive it to GA in Oct for my youngests sons' wedding. I figure I have survived 60 years without the car so a few more days are a small price to pay. The summer wheels and tires departed Baltimore yesterday so it won't be long. I'll post pix when I get her. TomD |

This was a lot of fun to read. I live over in the west Michigan area, but grew up in TC. M22 is such a wonderful road. In fact, there are so many phenomenal roads in the Traverse and Leelanau peninsula area, I don't know why I ever agreed to move away from there! Anyhow, congrats on the car. I actually placed an order for an M550xi back in May and will be doing the performance center delivery next month. It's been a tedious wait, but having never done a PCD, I figure it's worth it. . .besides, just builds the anticipation. Funny enough, I actually drove all the way to Lansing just to test drive the M550 since they were the only delearship within 3 hours that had one on the lot at the time. Spoke with the sales manager there who was quite nice and we had a fun chat about BMW and cars over the years. Unfortunately, he didn't think he'd be able to find an allocation in the short time frame I had to do the PCD which turned out to be a good thing as I was able to get a heck of a deal on my car shopping around. Congrats again! (I drive to Lansing nearly every week so I'll be sure to keep an eye out for the M550xi. Surprisingly, I have only seen 1 M5 and no M550s at all on the entire west side of Michigan (few weekends in TC, Holland area, and weekly drives to Lansing). Have fun! Freitaucher |
