M550 OEM exhaust tip removal
Anybody remove OEM tips? I'm assuming I get them off from behind with a rubber mallet and piece of wood...carefully
Just want to see what I'm dealing with without tips, so if anyone has done this and has pics that would be appreciated. Thanks |

I crawled underneath and you might be right. Some vids show guys banging BMW tips off from the backside with a 2x4 and hammer like they're just a tight slip fit

They are spot welded. Now I'll likely take it in and do a resonator delete once I figure out what to do for new tips. Not of fan of the OEM tips and I'm looking to slap on a gloss black rear diffuser

I bought the ECS 3.5 gloss black quad tips, which are supposed to be easy fit, but the shop quoted me $1k to do the entire job. They say they need to drop the entire system down, and build new connectors to get from the muffler to new tips. Very frustrating.
