In your opinion, would the MPPSK add much to the 540? Seems like every review I have read states the stock car is plenty quick but I have yet to drive one myself so cant' know for sure. I've been in a stock 340xi and I loved the way that car pulls off the line and I'm wondering if the 540 would be similar. I figure at the very least, the MPPSK would have the valved exhaust versus your MPE which is loud all the time. Thx.

Looks the same to me, if I compensate for the different camera angle. To me both side of the tip angles out at the bottom.

It must be the angle I guess, In this pic they seem to have a pointier bit on inside.

I went ahead and got the MPE because I didn't feel the car needed more power, but if the MPPSK is valved, I'd go for that just for that reason alone. I'm going to retrofit the valve onto my MPE.

I just need to back away and come back when my car is ready...
Have I finally lost it completely or does this wheel in the promo Video (and also on the configurator) look different from what is on your car? Same general shape, but something not right. I have put both side by side in photoshop and I can't figure it out. Is it just the camera quality or lighting angle, or is this one actually lighter in color or something? If they made it darker for the U.S. M Shadowline I'm gonna be pissed... |

The design is the same but the lighting in your pic makes the wheel look different for sure. They are polished metal on the face and the inside of the arms are pretty dark. The graphite coloring on them is the same as was on my E93 M3 wheels. It's actually nice for hiding the brake dust though, of which there was quite a bit my first week of driving, maybe because the car is new or maybe M Sport brakes?

Must be the lighting... OEM only shows 1 option (Orbit Gray).
And Yes, your car is awesome. (I hope so because I essentially bought it Not sure I could go that dark on tint though... what is your brand/% etc.? Can't help but think, however, there are so many limitations they place on us here that I'm not sure why...digital dash thing, Shadowline required for M, no side badge -- poser? sure but kinda looks good, etc.). They are made to order in the same country, why the lack of choice? It would be a hard choice, but this M Package with chrome really adds a classy touch. |

I had the MPE on my '13 535 M sport, and it droned awfully at freeway speed. The fix was to keep the tranny in Sport mode at all times, by moving the shifter to the left. This locked out 8th gear, and kept it 7th, which kept the rpm's above 3k and eliminated the drone. The downside was slightly worse fuel economy on the freeway. Currently, I have a '16 550 M sport with competition pkg M5 mufflers, and I've wired the valves to be open at all times. Love the sound, and no drone at freeway speeds. I'm bummed to read that these mufflers won't fit the G30, as that was my plan. |

I had same set up on my 2014 550, however I ran them with an exhaust meister to open them up full when I wanted to. The new 540 only has a single backpipe so the dual mufflers you are running now won't work unless you get 550. But the new 550 comes with a (supposedly) more aggressive sport exhaust so you probably won't need to switch it out.
