Hello,
Does anyone have the link to download the 2019-2 North America evo map? I'm still on 2018-4, yes I got OTA updates for regional but plan on taking a trip out of my "region". And no they are not available for me to download under my connected drive like you guys across the pond. Thanks for anyone who can help with the link!

You can go to the My BMW site and change to the region you're traveling to and then put it back when you return.

You can buy it from a number of places. I'm still on 2017-4 and plan to update to it.

$41 here for USB Stick only as you are most likely within the 3 year FSC code activation window: https://www.getbmwparts.com/p-2019-n...k2018navupdate

You can also download them for free from a few places, but I don't know how legit they are and would rather just pay $40 than to download something to my computer then upload it to my car without verifying it 100%.

For what it's worth, 2019-3 should be available within the next 45 days or so.

+1 on using OEM Navigations. Super friendly, helpful people. I purchased my NA EVO 2019-2 map update from them and was provided an immediate download. Highly recommend!

And no, I am not affiliated with them in any way, shape, or form, but I will be always be a customer after these two positive experiences!

Maps downloaded for free via their active connected drive subscription. Why do you think we had 3 years of fcs preloaded?

Can't you just request dealer to update when you do oil change next time?

BMW still sells the map updates via USB stick without the code for $40 unless you can talk the service department into doing it for you for free.

Good luck finding a service department service advisor that will do it for free. They can of course. Remember that these guys are incentivized by service revenue and this takes about an hour. You would probably have to talk to them into it. I'd rather pay $40 to do the download at home and skip the dealer.

Please note that after you perform the full map update the regional update option disappears for a little while. I finally saw it again this morning in ConnectedDrive in my vehicle and via the web.

I tried this one after BMW Genius told me I had 1 free US map update and to go to my dealer to tell them. The dealer gave me the run around and basically ended up speaking to 3 different people- 1 of which was apparently a former "BMW Genius" who said the current BMW Genius didn't know what he was talking about. Wasted an hour of my time and didn't update it for me.

how long does it take, my garage is 10 minutes walking from my building (NYC...), and can't really just sit there for a hour to update map...

It took just under an hour for the NA 2019-2 update. Please see my other thread regarding my notes about the upgrade.

FYI, you can turn the vehicle off and it will pick up where it left off later on. You can also continue using the Maps application while the update uploads in the background. When it completes the navigation system will restart. Then you will get a update success notification. Super easy.
