Favorite tires that have wowed you. Go!

Curious what your favorite shoes are? I always run Goodyear's, they alway just wear super fast. Need to prepare for my next pair of tires after the winter. I'm ready to get off the run flats though.

I have had excellent experience with Michelins, mostly Pilot Sports, and mostly run flats. I put them on my '93 and '95 Corvette ZR-1s (PS non-run flats), put them on my 2010 535xi (all season runflats), have them on my Z06 (summer runflats) and will put Pilot Sport A/S 3+s (all season run flats) on the Z06 in the spring, as it is due for tires soon. I put Michelin Primacy all season run flats on my wife's 328xi last summer because they didn't have A/S 3+ i her tire size. When my Goodyears wear out on the 2019 540xi I will also put A/S 3+ runflats on, or if they don't have the A/S 3+ in my size, a similar sport all season run flat from Michelin. Sorry to hear you are thinking of switching away from run flats; I am a big fan. Today's run flat tires are so much improved over the first ones from the early 2000's the difference is not even noticeable to me, and they have saved my bacon twice, allowing me to drive home from a flat and to the dealer the next day. For most cars, Costco sells and installs Michelins at a most reasonable price, with great followup service on them. Costco did the '95 ZR-1, the 2010 535xi and the 2104 328xi for me. I have always been pleased with the improved ride of the Michelins over others and they are manufactured to high standards so I have never had an issue balancing them, as I did with some other brands due to out-of-round issues. --Bob

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and Continental contact sport 6.

Nothing else has come close in my experience but it depends what you want out of a tyre - they're not the quietest or the comfiest or the most long lasting, they just win on performance.

Pilot Sport 4 S

Best summer tire in terms of wear, grip and comfort. Hook up better on the street than my drag radials, and last as long as an average tire.

These are my favorites by type, all of them non-runflat
Summer tires: Michelin Pilot Super Sports and Pilot Sport 4S
Winter tires: Dunlop Wintersport 3D and Pirelli Sottozero 3 (both for milder winters)
All Seasons: haven't owned but want to try Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 next

I'm on Goodyear RF as well, how many miles did it take everyone to replace these?

Too many people with the Goodyear Assy 3 RFT never had a chance to wear tires to tread bar. The darn sidewall is so poorly constructed many failed due to sidewalls leaking air. I had 2 on my 2017 540 and after hearing from my SA and dealer shop foreman that I wasn't the only one experiencing that issue, I cut my loses and went to Pirelli PZeros. However my 2019 has Michelin PS3ZP and those are excellent tires so far. 6K miles on them and no complaints.

Check Continental DWS 06...

I'm running them on my F80 M3 so I can drive in New England winter if I want to. (I have a GTI as a winter car)

DWS 06 is a Phenomenal high performance all season tire. It's not a track day tire or ski lodge tire but for what I see in new England I rate this tire a 10 out of 10!!! In the rain you can run damn near flat out minus deep standing water above 90

Look at tirerack and read the reviews then look at the number of SOLD tires. I think there is a tire "ranked" hire but it has not sold in the volume so the numbers are skewed...

Great in summer, excellent grip quite and comfortable...

I see you're in Connecticut... Get the DWS 06

So for the guys who are on 18 in, what do you use for all season run flat?

At least on tire rack Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 on 18 in only had 245/40 instead of 245/45

I'm on 20's, 668Ms. I also discarded the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric runflats after losing two sidewalls in 8 months. I have always run Michelin...PS4S being my favorite go flat. However, I am also very happy with 8 K on my PS3ZP runflats. Can't feel a lot of difference from the PS4S. Love them.
