Now then chaps,

just thought I'd say hi. I've just ordered a G30 520 SE as an upgrade from my current F10 after a recent "event" at one of the local dealers. Nothing as exotic as some of the beasts on here but from the test drives I've had the G30 even in a basic form is definitely a step up from the F10, especially as it appears they've dialled out all of the "Floaty" suspension.

Now ... the bit I hate ... the wait............

You're handling your addiction well. I'm not - I'm 2x a day at present, first thing in the morning and last thing before 10pm

The dealer said week 40 build with week 43 arrival, which is the last week of October. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas!!

The dealer forgot to give me the order number so I can't track the progress, so he's getting hassle until he sends the details over.... Not sure if they're speaking as they matched the best of the online quotes I wandered in with. I was very stubborn with them until they did... I think they did match the deals to shut me up as the showroom was full with people waiting and I didn't hear many people getting much discount!!

Seems like they are geared to build every model other than 530d. Mine is still sitting at wk 49.

My G30 came with without 704 M Suspension and lack of Adaptive Ride but 18" RFT Wheels and ride is sometimes too floaty rather than what I would call comfortable

No mate I haven't. I've just left it with standard. I had a ride out in an SE on 18" standard setup and I was shocked how much better the ride and handling was over my current car is. I was also on a tight budget with having to move house fairly soon too :'(

The wait seems to get worse as you get closer. Now I actually feel sad when the status doesn't change at least once a day I have to remind myself I'm an adult!

I've been told by my partner that she's glad I've found a forum with like minded people than constantly talk about the wait with her

I know exactly what you mean about last few days. It gets worse than better. I remember last time around, I went to the dealer to see my car before they did the pre-delivery work

I am yes, however I may change them in the future. I was amazed when it said on the spec that the 17's don't come with RFTs... I decided I didn't want to tip over the £40K addition VED bracket as I didn't want to give them buggers any more money as they've completely fleeced us with our properties.

End of Jan?? Crikey! I'm climbing the walls now and I've only got a few weeks to go.

I'd be interested to see what you think when it comes. The one I demo'd had 19's with RFT's and found the ride a bit jiggly which I put down to the low profile run flats with their stiff sidewalls.
I figured the ride would be smoother on the 17" non RFT's.
As mines a company car I also wanted to keep the BIK as low as possible cos the tax man is ramping it up quite a bit over the next few years.

Had a message from the dealer that there is a possibility of the car arriving earlier than expected. It's built and on it's way to the port already :-)

Update:

Had an email from the dealer on Wednesday to say it shouldn't be too much longer until the car arrives... got a phone call today to say they have it!! It was only ordered on Sept 12th from the factory!! Had a quick look at it today, it was still wrapped etc but it looks fab. I totally forgot to take my phone with me to take some pics.

Should be collecting it next week sometime :-)
