+++ for Rhombicle
I have the Rhombicle interior trim with Mocha Nappa. I really like it (thankfully!). I think its high-end looking. Absent a CF trim choice, I felt Rhombicle was/is the next best option. I prefer a more contemporary look and all the wood grain trims seem a bit too traditional.

I like the idea of the aluminum trim with certain interior colors, I think the aluminum provides nice contrast with the rest of the interior.
But in practice, BMWs aluminum rombicile looks and feels cheap. I had it in a 530e loaner and it screamed low budget to me. Wish they had a metal option with a more premium look and feel |

Inquiring on BMW 5 series interior trim
Today I just picked up a 2023 530i Xdrive which I built and waited over 2 months. I ordered the aluminum rhombicle smoke grey trim with pearl chrome accent interior trim and when I picked the car up, it was black. It looks silver/aluminum in person.
Does anyone else have this trim and can comment on if BMW made a mistake when building this car? Greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thank you |

A picture would probably help. Are you unhappy with it?

Egads. Looks like the kind of plasticky crap that Merc is putting in their A and C classes.

BMW's use of the Rhombicle pattern is quite a clever idea if one opts for aluminum trim. Having owned a vehicle with plain brushed metal trim, it's no secret that it is easily scratched or dented and those marks on a large field of plain aluminum stand out like sore thumbs. It seems like marks appear without ever knowing how or why. On a performance model, aluminum looks more appropriate than, say, walnut or other fake wood, but those surfaces seem better at hiding the effects of day-to-day driving.

I always thought it looked quiet good at least on videos on iTunes. Black cars with black interiors had this and it seemed like a good match . Never felt it myself so no idea how cheap it might be in real life

I'm a big fan of aluminum rhombicle and think it looks great next to my mocha nappa. 100% I would order it again. I for sure don't like that old man glossy brown wood crap for an M-Sport sedan.

I have the Rhombicle as I wanted to minimize gloss on the dash. The piano black plastic that's already here and there is plenty enough.
I wouldn't mind the dark woods, such as gray poplar, if they came in satin or open pore finish Alpina B5 GT looks great to me: |
