Sorry to hear its not worked out Carlos. Buying property is not a fun thing, its stressful no matter what your circumstances, especially these days where its all so very, very expensive.

Hopefully you'll find something else, although I would not worry about the deposit bit, as others have said, you can ensure legally that it is protected if you and the miswah decide to go separate ways in the future.

Hi Scott, thats not really the issue, its gone from being manageable monthly to being a bit of a push and with my paying not only all the deposit but paying more monthly compared to her share to enable the 70/30 or 80/20 split!

ALso we have gone from just over 10% deposit to 5% not good really.:sad0147:

Hi Carlos,

You are using your head and clearly don't want to leave yourself exposed with a large mortgage every month which in the long term will sap you of enjoying life when you are young.

I would have a re-think if I was you and see what else is out in the market. You are a young guy and your salary will go up as you progress you career.

A cheaper property will get you into the market and should make it easier to go up the ladder in the future.

Ian & Jason, what are those places that 'used' to be in the east end of London & the people now insist they're in Essex.

Don't you get mushy peas down there.

You're thinking of - Kensington High Steet, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Kings Road Etc, the places don't have to be in East London to be adopted by Essexonians, there a bit like scousers in that respect, magpies.

Mushy peas & chips, yep exclusively from Southend Pier along with cockels and mussels and as much lager as you can neck!
