G30 full leather dash option rare?

I've been browsing Autotrader looking at the selection of m550i. I was particularly interested in ones that have full leather dash option and I think I only found one that had partial on it per the pic of the window sticker. It was a $700 option and only was on upper half of dash only. No lower dash or door tops. Is this a rare option to get full leather everywhere also on lower dash and door tops?

I noticed the same. I really wanted this option but gave up as it would require a custom ordered car. Seemed like under 2% of cars had it.

IIRC it DOES include the door tops
And NO WAY would I buy a car without it
Cant stand the rubber dash...$700 is so cheap to make the car look so much better

Ok, thats good to know, but what about the lower half if the dash? That was definitely not leather in the pics of the car listing that had the option.

The lower dash is not leather.

It could always be worse.

Try finding an E-class in dealer inventory with real leather anywhere in the cabin. Mb-Tex runs like a disease in Merc dealerships. To me it's a sign that their customers solely chase the badge and could care less about true luxury.

So it's safe to say that the used m550i market will be 99.9% sensatec with the rare one that has the base leather dash option with just the upper dash and door tops?

I paid $1K bc I drive a lowly 540i. Worth every cent if you like a G30 for its luxury. Ditto for the ceramic controls.

I don't consider 540i lowly 😁. The leather dash was a $1,200 option on 540i but included with the $3,700 IND Full Merino leather option. Plus you HAVE to get $1,600 luxury seat to get Merino leather. My 540ix M sport is coming with Merino Tartufo leather. The BMW INDIVIDUAL app shows the difference. I will capture some screen shots to show difference. This shows the difference between Merino Full as opposed to Nappa and Dakota. The black areas would be converted with synthetic leather.

The leather dash, Alcantra roof and piano black trim options both transform the interior to a true luxury car worthy of the price. I understand the Alcantra roof is unfortunately no longer an option on the 2019 model.

+1 Really, really wanted the Merino Caramel Black but I couldn't wait the additional months on my order. So I got the Mocha Nappa. The nappa leather is very nice but I prefer the color scheme of the Merino and the more complete installation. I definitely think, for me, that the leather dash was worth the price. It really finishes off the interior nicely, especially with the leather tops on each window sill.

I didn't realize that the leather dash option extended to the window sills. Very nice and agree it's worth it considering the cost of other BMW options. I love the piano black trim. Wish I had ordered that but didn't want too many IND options, in case it delayed delivery. Very happy I got the IND Merino with dash because not sure if I would have got dash by it's self at the time and I love both.

Good news is that the leather dash, alcantra roof liner and piano black trim were not IND options at the time, so no delays.

The Sensatec is only available on the 530. The 540 & 550 come standard with the first upgrade to Dakota leather. The second upgrade is to Nappa leather and the third upgrade is to Merino FULL leather. The upper leather dash is a option with Dakota and Nappa but included with Merino. The lower leather dash is only with Merino option. Merino also requires luxury seat option so it's a expensive upgrade and much less common. See pictures above.

Do you know why they got rid of the Alcantara option? That is one of my favorite things on my car...

Problem with piano finishes is they are finger print and scratch magnets. But I agree it looks great though.
