Shouldn't really be a surprise since BMW changed it on the new 7 series too.

Hey, I know exactly what you mean! Mine came stock with 20s, however, they were too narrow for me and I wanted to go with the black wheel so I switched to these (20x10.5 in the rear and 20x9 in the front). The stock tires that were on the factory 20s were Goodyear F1 asymmetric 3's
Front 245/35 R20
Rear 275/30 R20

It just didn't look right, too much wheel well gap and didn't fill the rim up. One of the guys on this forum mentioned that the 2018 M5's, which have the same wheel size that I switched to, run 275/35-20 and 295/35-20, so I changed the tires out for that size and it looks much better! My suspension is the stock M550i. Hope that helps.

That's actually really good to know. I ran a 255/35/20 front and 285/30/20 rear, but for the next set, ill def try that 295/35 setup you have. I'm sure the 550 has a much better sport suspension from factory so i think you're lower. I just have a sportline 530..i regret not getting that m-sport because i think the wheel gap would be a little less. I'll post a picture tomorrow if i remember to take one. Thanks for the info.

Still looks really good though! I think the larger tires may help and I believe you are correct that the M550's suspension is an inch or so lower. You're ride looks awesome though! Nice job.

Plenty of wheels around that fit.
I grabbed these as I hate gloss black wheels and I wanted to re use the existing brand new runflats as the car is new.

Hi, regarding after market rims, arent you afraid that you could get probems with the Transfer-gearbox...I really want after market rims but my local BMW dealer is scearing me with this gearbox issue.....that I could get problems not using oem rims etc......

Regards

Morten

Rims won't matter for transfer case, you could even use wooden wheels and it would be ok as long as all the tires' heights are within 1% of each other

For those of you that have put on wider rims: Do you know what your new wheel's offset is? Stock is 30mm positive. I'm trying to figure out the maximum wheel spacers I can put on with the stock 245/45R18 and 8J X 18 tire wheel combo. It's the cheap mans way of filling out the wheel well. New rim width of 9" or 10.5" would add .5" and 1.25", respectively, to the outside of the tire if the offset is the same. I want to go with 25mm spacers, if possible.
