MY2020 No Longer Has Decals

I took delivery of my MY2020 530e xDrive in early October and need to do a write up on what I've noticed (mainly to explain what is and isn't there in iDrive 7 ahead of the full LCI), but I noticed that my car lacks any decals which I thought was odd.

The car has no xDrive decal on the trunk, no eDrive decal on the sides, and no "I" decal. The only decal is the "530e" badge on the rear. I thought it was odd and the sales guy was confused as to why the factory missed them. But now that dealers have started to have these cars hitting their lots they are missing from all of them from what I can tell.

I like the cleaner look so I'm not posting a complaint. Just more curious if BMW is moving away from the decals officially? I know in the past xDrive was listed in model number so you'd see "530xe".

Any other MY2020 G30s notice the same?

The U.K. July Price List (after upgrade to iDrive 7 & uprated battery) says the 530e has - eDrive designation on C-pillar. Does the US Price List say the same

Weird. I always assumed that the edrive signs on the rear pillars were to ensure that anybody working on the car (mechanics, tow truck drivers, etc.) would know that there are high level electric wires inside. That is the only reason I haven't debadged my car.

I didn't see it in the US Price Guide posted on the site.

Yeah, I thought the same. I thought the xDrive and eDrive badges were important for similar reasons. So a tow truck knows it is AWD and needs to be flat bedded and the eDrive warning you that there are high voltage batteries.

It is possible it is a production mistake too on the first batch hitting the US.

I like the clean look but agree that having the xDrive badge especially is important for tow trucks. The eDrive is also important but IMO less so since there are other indicators (the 530e badge and charge port, for example).

FWIW, I haven't noticed recent BMWs keeping the "x" in the model number badge. My M550i just says "M550i" on the passenger side of the trunk (with no x), but has the xDrive badge on the driver side.

The image below was taken from one of the online part databases (bimmercat)...you can see that there are e-drive & x-drive emblems available. When you decode your VIN is there a listed code that refers to "debadging"?

Nothing about debadging in my VIN decoding.

My 2019 530e xDrive did not have an xDrive badge but it did have all of the eDrive and i badges.

I did order a 2019 model but got a 2020 model cause the order was in to late. I specifically ordered the car without any decals. I told them that I didn't want anything.
It even is in the equipment list listed like "No edrive decal", "No i decal" etc.
But the car came with 530e in the rear, I had to remove that myself.

The other cars that arrived at the same time as mine has all, edrive, i and 530e.

I don't have xdrive and didn't see any xdrive decals on the others.

My car arrived in end of july. Production date was early in july.

This was published by BMW somewhere, 2020 eDrive models no longer receive the special badging. They are considered "equal".
Also, the online configurator no longer shows eDrive badges.

I like the stealth nature of it all, but the only badge they cut out that gives me concern is the xDrive badge. I can just see it leading to an incorrect tow if you're towed and not present to tell them it is AWD...

Yeah, picked up my car on 10/5, but I'm sure I wasn't the first MY2020 as they started rolling off the assembly line on 7/1 for the G30.

The eDrive models never had any xDrive badges. Go figure. Here is my 2018 530e, not even a hint that it's an xDrive:
