I use comfort usually but changed the setting so that I put it in sport individual, with comfort setting, so I have the sport display as I like the digital speedo readout.

It all depends on how you use the car...

I drive my cars a lot and refuse to rent a car for road trips when I have an amazing car to drive that was built to my specs. But I know people who rent cars to put miles on for road trips because of lease mileage limits. Why buy a car if you aren’t driving it? Seems odd to me, but arguably most German car buyers are this way.

I do a lot of 500+ mile drives to visit family and on the “boring” stretches through upstate NY where they have a trooper every mile cruise control and ECO Pro aren’t bad choices. Sport mode and CC would be an odd choice IMHO.

I got lucky only getting a warning up there at 92 MPH. I am not rolling the dice twice

Oh yea I drove from NYC to Ithaca once, cruise control and eco pro about the only time I use eco pro consistently

Sport almost all the time. Have it bimmercoded to always start that way. I wish I had an M5 so it makes sense in that regard. I am usually driving windy back roads to work and back almost daily.

I haven't coded yet. I feel like there needs to be more coding on the g30 compared to other models. Why is it taking so long for more features.

The ultimate self driving machine has its moments if you live on the road. When it self drives I want maximum mpg.

I'll just put it this way and you can figure out the rest. Sport+ manual on the way to work and comfort/eco on the way home.

Mostly comfort and then sport for twisties, joining highways and when I want to use the paddles and enjoy the sound.

I've tried Adaptive a few times but I can't say that I feel it adapt. Maybe I am using it wrong, but what are the triggers for it to go out of comfort mode? Does it behave anything like Sport?

I really need this code so I don’t have to manually switch to Sport every time I get in the car! Where is it???

Eco is great except it seems to kill the ac, in south Florida you need all the ac you can use

City sport individual with engine in sport, gears set sport plus , steering/shocks set to sport.

Has anyone ever noticed a difference between Adaptive and Sport?

I have tried several times in various conditions, and for the life of me could never tell the difference.

Sport will have a non linear pedal feeling compared to comfort or adaptive, meaning you (if you keep it in same gear at 20% throttle and go from either comfort:adaptive into sport) you will feel a bump instantly in throttle response. Sport plus is linear and will feel less than just sport until you get hard into the throttle. Sport and sport plus will burble a tad, adaptive and comfort will not, ever. The way to feel it out is gear lever in manual and in 2nd or 3rd at pedal position mentioned and you with modes.

The "code" is in the name. Lago obviously used the Bimmercode app that gets discussed a lot on multiple BMW forums.

You can go to the Play Store (Android) or the App Store (IOS) to find the app and read about how it works. You can also find videos on YouTube about how to use the app...or simply google "Bimmercode".

True story, thanks for replying. The Bimmercode app is worth the cost in my opinion. There are numerous things you can code, but the big ones for me were turning off the auto start/stop and having a default driving mode (i.e. sport).

Thanks

Coded mine to start with Adaptive as default because I have the electronic dampers and love the stability & smoothness they provide.

>90% of the time I'm driving with Adaptive and shifter to the left (S). I'll toggle the shifter to the right(D) for longer highway trips.

Sport virtually 99% of the time.

I actually drove in eco mode one time. I drove from PA to my new home in FL. I used eco mode for most of the way down 95. Probably won't ever do it again, but I was trying to reduce the # of stops I had to make.

I find comfort mode to be intolerable.

I haven't experimented with Sport Plus settings yet.

Sport Individual much of the time, with sport steering and engine but comfort transmission settings. I can't stand the light steering effort in Comfort. And I wish there was an option for coasting in modes other than EcoPro, as it is neat to see how far the car coasts without losing much speed approaching red lights.

Adaptive seamlessly switches between the eco comfort and sport modes. Despite its name , it's not solely referencing adaptive suspension.

So if if you are driving along slowly and smoothly behind the scenes it may be in comfort mode but if you the decide to hammer it round a load of twisty bends at speed it might switch into the equivalent of sport mode.

I think I'm right I saying that in this mode the gearbox will changes gears based upon the satnav knowing for example a curve is approaching and will change down a gear day.

Personally never use this mode as the steering is light and much prefer the heavier steering in sport mode (which configure for both eco pro and sport individual modes)

If I put the shifter to the left it says sport mode and s1 or m1 depending if I manually shift or not. Do I not have this feature or is it on the 550 and need to be activated?
