Pealing Bumper Cover

The paint is pealing on the lower bumper cover. Is this normal? it's a 2018 M550i

That is most likely the clear coat peeling. I am guessing you bought the car used. One of the first things dealers do to lease returns and trades if needed is to spray the bumpers. The problem is when it comes to their cost (vs. ours), they do it the wrong way to save money. They literally have contracted guys that spray and pray in the parking lot. The issue is the clearcoat when it comes to doing it this way. Clearcoat needs to wrap completely around the item being sprayed completely to the edges. The right way to spray a bumper cover is to take it off and make sure the clear coat goes to the edge. You issue is that it is just applied to visible surface and not where it folds in on the edges. Eventually it peels because it is not contiguous.
