Bluetooth call distortion driving me insane
After couple weeks of perfect audio in bluetooth calls, this suddenly happened:
https://youtu.be/iq6E00m7-Z0 Only calls have the issue; streaming Spotify or Youtube is not affected. I tried an iDrive reset + factory reset + delete/pair device ... nothing works. The dealer says: "It works with all other phones, so must be your phone..." ... and they're right: all other phones (iPhone and Android) are perfectly fine. But.....crazy thing is that the phone works fine with in other car's bluetooth, headsets, etc... Car is a G30 2022, Phone is a Xiaomi POCO F2 pro |

I have a similar issue with my Galaxy S22U with iDrive7. In my situation, about 1 in 3 times after I start car, the first call has distorted audio. I can either hang up and try again or switch the call off Bluetooth then back on to correct the distorted audio. In my case, it's only the first call after I drive off. Further calls seem to always be ok.
Curious what iStep version you have in your car? My iDrive software is 7/2022.40.

For me, it's all calls, all the time. There's no progress keeping the call established either.
My installed version is 11/2022.20 I checked for updates, but there aren't any at the moment. |

Same Issue
I have had my 2023 530i for 2 weeks. Perfect calls until 3 days ago and then having the exact same issue as detailed in your video. Have done the hard reset to idrive and no changes.

Same issue here. A factory reset of the phone initially fixed the issue, but that fix lasted only a weeks. This seems to impact only Android phones. My phone works fine on other vehicles/Bluetooth devices. I've tried everything on idrive and the phone to fix the issue, cute I refuse to factory reset every few weeks.

None that I have heard. I have been on and off the road for the last 5 weeks and haven't had a chance to take the car to the dealer to have it sorted. Ridiculous that I even have to.

Audio Codec
It's probably your audio codec. Ther is a way to change it different ways depending on your phone. You just need to get into dev mode.
