No Bowers & Wilkins and no Laser Lights when I placed my order for 2021 530e.

Order placed July 1st, got VIN on July 7. Phone says expected completion date is July 27. Theyíre moving fast!

My 2021 M550i has entered exterior body construction phase of assembly. Exciting.

Anyone know if the Adaptive Full LED lights on the 2021's are like what's on the 2018-2020 G30's or like what BMW is using on the G05 X5's where the lights are dumbed down?

Now I'm really upset that my 2020 order was canceled. I normally order heavily optioned BMW's which are difficult to find locally so I'm SOL getting a 2020 from inventory.

That's bad news, night vision is a must for any new BMW in the future for me. Soft close is a very nice touch as well, seems like the bean counters got priority for 2021 decision making. Just hope it (world stability) returns for 2022.

Not a fan of shades of grey a blue and then an individual red exterior. A lot of 2021 G30 options don't make sense to me.

I agree. I'm not seeing night vision in any 2021 models and only the 7-series gets remote control parking.

BMW is trumpeting 5-series technology -- like support for Apple CarKey -- while quietly taking away two mature, useful technologies. Sure, night vision never made it into the control panel like Audi or Mercedes, but it was still useful.

For 2021, you can no longer order bowers and wilkins for the 530 or 540 models, you can order it on the m550i and m5 based on the pricing and ordering guides for 2021. I confirmed this with my salesman, bowers and wilkins is available on the m550 and m5

It will be better to see the options once bmwusa.com (not always accurate at first) puts the 2021 car on their website.

My car is on a boat in the Atlantic. My dealer thinks that they should have it ready to deliver to me when I get back from vacation at the end of August. Exciting.
I will be turning in my 2017 Audi S6 next Friday to avoid paying for another month on the extended lease while it sits in my garage.
S6 is awesome, but, sadly, no more V-8s in the 2020 S6. I will have my last week of fun driving it hard.

Bud James

2021 Configure Feature

The BMW UK has the 2021 G30 configure feature available now ... at least you don't need to read German to configure your 2021.

It looks like, despite the difference in package name and code (e.g. Professional - ZDY on 750i and Plus - ZDB on M550i/M5), the underlying components are the same (5AR and 5AU).

The US 2021 5-series configurator, however, is showing an instrument cluster without the driver-facing camera even with ZDB selected. Hopefully that's just a bug with the configurator.

That would be good if the same as the 3 Series. What does the drivers face camera do?

If you get the those packages, does traffic around you display on the Live Cockpit? I think the 3 Series does that and I though that was neat. Like the Teslaís do.

The camera is for driver attention checking, which is required for the extended traffic jam assist feature that is part of the newest driver assistant package.

From the photos of recent MY21 deliveries, it looks like the camera does exist, so I am expecting the driver assistant would be the same as the one on the 3 series.

Anybody got their 2021s yet?

Current estimate to arrive to the dealer is Sept. 19. So 11.5 weeks total (not too bad). I was told the west coast fires and smoke affected deliveries (unsurprisingly).

Folks who ordered in June/July: have any of your cars arrived yet?

My order was 23 Jun for a dealer existing allocation for build week 34, 3rd week in August.....car arrived at dealer today, 19 Sep...according to "my garage". Dealer hasn't called me yet so, we'll see how long delivery takes.
