1. Tie between my wife’s G01 with Vernasca leather, and my M-B GLE 350 with excellent carpet and very good wood trim.

2. 1982 Jaguar XJ-6 with biscuit Connolly leather and glowing wood trim. Carpet was nice also.

3. 2011 VW Touareg, functionality in the extreme.

This will sound stupid compared to what most of you have been posting, but I had a 67 MGB that I thought had a great interior - especially the dashboard. Super simple and clean. Made me smile every time I got in.

I'm going somewhat lower brow.

My 2008 Caddy SRX interior was super nice and extremely comfortable. Great for long trips.

Interesting... My e60 (09 535 wagon) might have been my least favorite interior I've ever had. That early I-Drive, the PDC that was incessant and unable to be muted while somehow still letting me back into a trailer hitch, the downward sloping door arm rests... IMHO not BMW's best effort.

Not one of my cars, but my uncle, a real long time ago had an old Mercedes W123 300D, and that interior (for the time at least) I always remembered as a classy bank vault. It looked good, felt good, and build quality just was all around excellent.

I agree, my dad had a 1984 W123 300D and between his car and the W124 that replaced it, I feel those cars had the best build quality and classiest interiors on ANY car that I have driven.

My 2011 E90 M3 fit me like a glove and everything was exactly where I expected it. Mine was a slick top, so plenty of head room. No navigation, so a single hump with no distractions. Speed Cloth interior that was nice to the touch and breathable, but the form of the seat held me in great. Steering wheel material and thickness have confidence with no fatigue. Shifter was in just the right spot. Pedal box positioned great for heel-toes...

That's funny because I was going to mention my MGB's also. As a driving environment they were lovely. The 'Big Healy' was nice too, once you got used to that big wheel right in your lap.

I also very much like my Z4MC (or any other E85/6) as a driving environment. The M coupe can feel a bit cave-like -- the 3.0si coupe with its lighter colored headliner is much brighter feeling -- but the controls are very focused and clean in any of them. Everything I need and nothing that I don't.

100% agree. Those old W123 & W124 interior were exceptional. I love the large expanse of lacquered wood and super thick cow hide. Those pleated seats were very comfortable too. They were designed in 70's and 80's but they look more luxurious than some of the new stuff Daimler-Benz is doing now. Those jewel like gauges with their amber glow takes me back to my childhood.

I'm not a big fan of high glossed anything in the interior. I've never understood the attraction of wood trim in a car interior either. Is it supposed to make you feel like you're in a boat or something?

In a study smoking a pipe while wearing a felt jacket surrounded by wood wainscoting.

I find wood interiors feel more warm and inviting than that of metal/aluminum trim. It also contrasts/pairs well with black, white or beige leather. Also some of the aluminum trims look really tacky/fake. I'm a big fan of the matte wood trims that aren't glossy.

Remember those Chryslers with the " rich Corinthian leather"? Ricardo Montalbán was in those commercials. Some of those 60s-70s boats were super plush back in the day.

I remember reading some higher end Bentleys / Rolls use a breeds of cow that live in high altitudes so they have never been bitten by flies.

They also graze in fields fenced with materials that do not mark the hides. No barbed wire gets near them.

my only issue with the e9x was that you sit so high up in the seat. you feel like you're on top of the car rather than 'in it' like the f80.

of course that can be remedied with an aftermarket seat easily.

I DEFINITELY got the feeling driving friends’ E92/3 Ms. I never got that feeling in the E90 sedan. I actually felt just right, but could notice a tangible difference hopping in a coupe or convertible.

I actually like my F22 interior more than the others. The F chassis M steering wheel is my favorite steering wheel design of any car. The interior is focused but most things within driver reach feel high quality. Some squeaks and creaks are my only complaints.

After that, I’d say my F30 interior was my favorite. I had Alcantara everywhere which made it feel pretty posh despite the base model steering wheel I never got around to replacing. The seats in that car were strangely the only seats I could sit in for 6-7 hours with minimal back pain.

My Lexus interior felt very high quality until you started tapping on all the plastic bits. Soft touch items are really nice, but hard items aren’t even matte finish. It’s all shiny scratch able plastic.

My '92 MR2 Turbo. Certainly not fancy, but it FELT special. Everything was in the right place, especially the shifter. I really want another MKII MR2. It's as close as I'll get to a Ferrari on a cop salary.
