Hi guys,

I've been lurking long enough, getting a bimmer has been a long journey for me.

I was deciding between 840i xdrive vs AMG E 53 vs G30 M550, pulled the trigger and ordered it after a ton of back and forth with the dealer and manager struggling to find allocation (shout out to manager A N in a PNW dealer)

Very nice spec , just about everything on there. You’ll get the enhanced autonomous features in the USA the extended traffic jam which we don’t get in the U.K. due to presumably regulations

My dealer, just this past weekend, said that I could not order a G30, that the books were closed, so you are not only lucky but incredibly lucky. Congrats!

I got mine after it had been discontinued in the U.K. and I ended up with an allocation originally bmw them selves
Apparently they keep a few back at the end for staff should they want to buy one .
But yeh I think this is the last month they are actually making them

One of thei best in my opinion

Yes, you’re right, it was a demo car allocation that they took over, took ~4 days for this to happen.

Other than m5, last v8, last 5 that you can turn off ASS!

Nice, I was debating Aventurine or Tanzanite and went for the latter in the end. Latest update from my dealer was [confirmed] delivery date 16 July. Not sure how the delivery date was confirmed but all the other dates were blank on the screenshot I saw.

Since you've done a ton of research, you probably already know this.
The 19" wheel is speed limited lower than the 20" wheel, which IIRC is 135mph in the USA.

Congrats! I just got mine about six weeks ago and it’s amazing! I came out of a 2018 M3 (which I purchased new in early 2019) and was somewhat afraid I’d miss it. While I did love it, the M550i is a sophisticated monster of a car, with many personalities depending on your mood. I couldn’t be more pleased!

Hey Kid - that's a beautiful color you ordered. I'd love it on my next coupe.

We're picking up our Skyscraper Grey/Black Nappa this Friday. Final assembly was April 22 and our VIN ends with...5887. Maybe you can compare your VIN to see how many were built during the last 50+ days.

My car was dispatched from the factory on 8 May. The VIN ends in 51125. We’ll be picking it up within the week.

My salesman offered me 2 M550s, but none is fully equipped, so not going to consider them (plus I'm interested in a lighter 540i RWD). But noticed something weird: They just got the first one, with VIN xxxCN58901 (build date 5/23), so a very late production one. And the one still in transit is xxxCN44451, which is a significantly older VIN. How is that possible? Just curious. By the way, they're at the south Austin dealership, if somebody is interested.

My build week is 26 and my VIN is around xxxCN99xxx FWIW. I also assumed VINs the last few digits are sequential as well.

They may not be , they may have check digits in them to ensure that they have a basic level of checking that they are entered correctly possibly

Whatever, enjoy the 550 when it arrives as it is a superb car
