New "To Me" 2019 540i - Suggestions???

Hey. I just bought a 2019 540i which will be delivered next week (bought from Vroom Online Sales). It's Graphite Gray. It has the following packages:

Driver Assistance Plus Package
Executive Package
M Sport Package
Premium Package II
Parking Assistance Package

I have ordered OEM all weather mats, Oem black grille and black chrome lettering from IND. Any suggestions on other mods? I am also considering the M performance exhaust but it's pricey for me right now. Thanks.

Its ok you can take your time, think of it as a future mini project whenever you get the itch to work on your car. Not sure if this is your first bmw, but you should get OBDLink CX on amazon for around $40 and bimmercode app for $50, tinker around things like ambient color, get rid of the dingdong and warning message when you start the car, change start up animation, add logo and digital speed on cluster, etc (stay out of expert mode unless you know how to do it). Best $100 spent TBH.

Performance mod is an addicting, never-ending adventure, you can prob start with ECU flash with BM3.. might want to wait if still under warranty

I have a 2019 540 now - M package, love it. I did the black kidneys, and painted my reflectors myself since my car is black, no need to waste money ordering a painted set. Only other mods are a CF trunk spoiler and lower diffuser, looks more sporty now. I also debadged my trunk entirely. I did add the M badges to the fenders, but only because that's how the euro spec cars come. No interior mods necessary, car is perfect as it. I also added spacers all around so my rims sit flush with the fenders, no rubbing and not lowered.

Nice packages!

Actually, very well spec'd out car. Enjoy the B58 cold start noises. They're lovely.

Hi. I have a 2008 540i now and have not had any real issues with it. I need the space and I like the styling especially the full digital dash. I also like the tune-ablity of the engine. I just feel it is a prefect combination of sport and comfort in my opinion.

Thanks! What size spacer did you go with and what brand?

Interested to hear how your experience with Vroom goes. I almost bought a 540i from them last week and then saw their F rating on the BBB and Consumer Affairs websites and decided not to. I even made the $500 payment to hold the car. Thousands of nightmare stories about people not getting the right car, cars were damaged, dirty, people couldn't get their license plates, titles, payments for traded cars, etc.

The experience was great for me as I picked out the car and negotiated the deal. But once you sign the contracts, good luck. Most people said they were told the car would be delivered in a week or 2 and it took months. I hope you have a better experience.

Damn! That sucks to hear. I hope these will not be my issue as I have been having a super hard time finding another 540i with those packages. I will keep you posted.

I also have a 2019 540x,i in Carbon Black/Cognac, and really like it. Only about 10,000 miles on it so far with the reduced driving we have all been experiencing. It is completely stock but at one point I did try a BMW M Sport exhaust system to make it sound a little more aggressive. I thought it sounded great but my wife hated it as it has some resonance, so after a year off it came. Was able to sell the unit so I retrieved some of the money spent, and she is happy so naturally, so am I. --Bob

Tune. Either JB4 or bm3. I have JB4 cause I'm still under warranty.

Downpipe and intake. Downpipe is a DIY job if you have some basic mechanical skills. If you do the downpipe, you probably don't need to do a new exhaust.

I put on a gloss black lip spoiler and also removed the xdrive badge and replaced the chrome 540 badge with a flat black one.

I did the black grill but i ended up putting the chrome back on since the headlights have chrome and I didn't like how the grill and lights didn't flow together

I love my 540.

I love my 540.

Thanks! I was thinking about changing the exhaust to the M performance exhaust but still doing some research. I don’t want it loud all the time. Would be nice if it is only loud in sport mode or with a push of a button. I hadn’t considered downpipe‘s but I’ll do some research on those too.

Not sure about tuning. I know a lot of people have done things and yes I’m still under warranty but nervous about pushing the engine pass what it is supposed to do. I’ll have to do some research and see what I can safely do without really killing my mpg or damaging the engine in the long term as I tend to keep my cars at least ten years.

Thanks man! I bought the OBDlink CX and paid for the app. About to get it set up and would probably stay away from expert mode for now but change the little things that are pretty straightforward.

I put the MPE on my 540i. It's pretty restrained in comfort even with the valve being removed in the setup. In S+ it's what you'd expect from an exhaust nothing too crazy. Minimal drone- can't really hear it over the stereo. Little pricey from the dealer, would've liked to have grabbed mine on black Friday but was still on the fence.

Curious if you received your 540i yet and if you have run into any issues with Vroom?

Hi. My experience with Vroom was pretty good. I feel I got a good price for the options I got and the process for them to obtain financing for me (through Chase bank) was quick and smooth. Got a pretty good rate (2.64% for 72 months) and they included all the fees and taxes in the loan. The delivery was also smooth. The car arrived one day earlier than their "Expected Delivery Date" so overall I have to say I am happy with them.

Thanks, I am still on the fence about the MPE. I need to better understand if the sound will be like the stock exhaust in comfort mode. I need it quiet (like stock) sometimes as I roll through my "respectable" neighborhood late at night. I have watched a few videos but I'm still undecided. I see a few posts that state that it has the valve to control the sound (which is cool) but some posts say it drones and it will be noticeably louder in any drive mode. Still researching...
