CarPlay menu won't show up

I'm hoping someone else has run across this. My last two BMWs had wireless CarPlay, and the process was mostly seamless. I just picked up a 2021 540i, and for some reason I can't get to the CarPlay menu. Phone pairing seemed to be successful, and CarPlay shows up now as an option in Media, maps, and other places within Idrive. However I can't get to the CarPlay menu, when I select CarPlay, either nothing happens, or I get what you see on the attached image. Anyone else seen this?

Possibly try holding one of the preset buttons over Apple CarPlay, and press the button you selected.

Hey there, I experienced something similar today. I picked up my 2021 M340i yesterday.
Push and hold down the volume button for 20 seconds. The dash and idrive screen should go blank and the system will shutdown. Push the volume button again and have the entire system reload
I got in my M304i this morning after bringing it home last night. All of a sudden no audio on the phone, xm radio and itouch. Oh and the left and right signal indicators had no sound when used. the front collision and pedestrian sensors were also not working.
I was able to get back to the dealer and the genius used that trick to reset everything so now it all works. He says tat is a trick they use in Service alot of the time when the electronics freeze or get wonky at times. Try that and see if that works. Good luck

If this doesn't work, if you haven't done this already. Delete the phone from everything. Remove from the car, forget the entry on the phone for wife, remove the CarPlay entry under settings/about/carplay and start fresh.

Yeah, I have a 2019 540 and quite often I lose carplay. oftentimes I have to delete the phone and re-add it, and even then it doesn't always work.

Hey Bud, Glad it worked. Unfortunately for me. My issue came back. So trying to get a brand new car back to service to get my issue fixed. Hopefully your issue doesnt come back.

Problem I always have in my 2021 is the red light camera/ speed camera warning I want in the HUD constantly moves back to the speedometer area. And even more annoying the option to switch it back just disappears. So I constantly have to reboot the I drive.
I even took my car to the Dealer for something else and had them look into it and they said it's fixed now. But same problem is still happening.
Loving the car, tech, drive, look etc. only issue is this annoying thing that disappoints me.
