New BMW 545e colour help
Hey guys
I am getting a BMW 545e and canīt wait to get that inline 6. But i need some help regarding the colour choice. I am going with the m sport trim with extended shadowline and jet black 19" alloys. I am pretty much torn between three exterior colours. Carbon black, black sapphire and bernina grey. I love the contrast between the black parts and the grey in bernina. But the carbon black with the special hint of dark blue in the sun is also awesome. And black sapphire is a classic black you canīt go wrong with. What would you choose and why? And if you have any preferences with the specific colours, I would love to hear it Thanks in advance. |

I would also say carbon black. But more important, to me, is to get upholstery that will complement the paint. Something like Carbon Black (Merino) or Mocha (Nappa).

I will say Mocha Nappa is a great option. The quilting of the leather and the quality of the leather is great. The color will not disappoint you!

One easy vote for Bermina Grey here (since I'm not a fan of black cars which show more dirt, show more imperfections, and do not do well in the hot Hawaiian climate). Pics I've seen of Bermina Grey on black wheels look good. And Mocha Nappa interior for the win.

Hi,
I've also signed to get the 545e, and like you I'm in doubt about which colour to pick. I've so far put down Carbon Black which they had in the showroom and I think it looks great. I'm however a bit torn between Carbon Black and Phytonic Blue... Reason is that I've also chosen black interior and might prefer a bit of contrast. Also there are so many black cars on the road. Personally I'm not a big fan of the Bernina Grey - I agree it looks great with black wheels and black trim, but I think that I personally would get tired of it over time and find it a bit dull. I can see that you are also in Denmark. When did you sign for/buy yours? When i signed for mine I was informed by the dealer that BMW have issues getting the breakes for this model which causes delays in deliveries - have you been told the same? |

Where do they have the Carbon Black 5 Series? I haven t seen it in person. And how does it look compared with the Black Sapphire? As far as I Can see, its not just an ordinary black car. The paint looks quite deep. More than the classic Black. |

They have a 5 series sedan in Carbon Black in the showroom at Jan Nygaard, Lyngby. I would like the Tanzanite Blue, but doesn't fancy the price tag here in DK. However the Carbon Black has a very deep blue shine to it in the sunlight. With the car sitting inside in the showroom, I could see the dep blue shine on the 'sunny side', and on the shaded side it has a nice deep black colour.
I think I may stop in to the dealer again to have another look at the car... |

Yes I know it has a hint of blue. Normally i donīt like blue in cars, but carbon black looks more black and very dark blue. The paint looks deeper than black sapphire, which I think looks awesome. Please correct me if i am wrong
Tanzanite is too blue for my taste. The same with phytonic blue. |

For the reason you just mentioned I have not convinced myself to change my order to Phytonic blue. Tanzanite blue I think is a nice deep blue colour with even nicer shine when light reflects of the car, but I find difference in price unjustified (same dealer has a 330i in this colour in their showroom). I agree that carbon looks deeper than saphire, and with the added effect i prefer carbon over saphire.
Out of curiosity which dealership did you buy from? |

Tanzanite is beautiful but too blue for me.
Carbon black has the best from two worlds. A wonderful deep black with an undertone of blue in direct sunlight. I bought it from BAG. |

I'm going to vote for Bermina Gray. It's a new and unique color. I think it looks amazing on the 545e.

The color looks great, especially with the fineline ridge wood trim. Here is a photo. You might not be able to see the leather color as much, but you will see the trim and dash. I'll take some seat photos if I get a chance.

Bernina Gray all the way! This is coming from someone with Carbon Black. There's a million of them. Bernina is new and unique.
Leather - Definitely Nappa. I think I would go black on Bernina. I thought Mocha was cool at first, but on any of your exterior color choices, black would be best. Mocha on white or other light colors is nice. Not so much dark. Get the full extended leather including dash.

There are a lot of orders on the new bernina grey. My dealer said it was about 20-25% of all new 5 series. Thatīs a big number. Carbon black is much more rare. At least here in Denmark. I have actually seen it in person a couple of times since my first post here. It looks amazing. Very exclusive if you ask me. I also saw it beside a sapphire black. Carbon black has so much more personality that it makes the sapphire black look quite boring. So I have already ordered a 545e in carbon black with a lot of options |
