BM3 Boost limiter?

I noticed in the BM3 stage 2 map it gives the option to leave the boost limiter OFF or choose CUSTOM.

Custom will let you slide the bar to max at 23.2 PSI. I am curious if this is higher than the OTS stage 2 map or if it is the same?

Will max boost limit at 23.2 be equal to leaving the map the way it comes?

Thanks.

You can only reduce boost/power by using it

Yes, but if it’s sets to max, is that fhe same max that the map offers if you leave be? I’m trying to understand if if the max on boost limit slider is the same max as the unaltered map.

If you leave it 23.2 it will not add any boost. Max boost in limited in map. You can only reduce it.

My thought process goes, Is there a boost reduction when it’s set for 23.2 vs leaving it be?

This shows the max boost the car can target but it does not create the boost target. Boost target is created via load/torque target and is constantly changing due to many many factors.

Yes, I don’t think I’m wording this correctly. For whatever reason, I am using boost limiter on my stage 2 map set at 23.2psi. Am I missing out on max boost at max throttle/load by NOT using the boost limiter?

Does bm3 stage 2 run MORE THAN 23.2psi target boost at anytime?

Will the car see more boost leaving boost longer set to OFF rather than custom and setting it at 23.2?

Thanks.

That setting will only go as high as the “boost ceiling(hPa)” table is set in the tune. The data is grabbed directly from that table and only overwrites that table when used. The best option is just to leave that config setting alone unless you are using it to great a valet map with limited boost. This was PTF reason for adding the config setting. Hopefully that clears it up!
