I still don't understand why people spend there money on aftermarket coils. There all made in China. Just buy elder. Know to work and last. Dinan coils are crap but people keep buying into it until they fail or just don't work. And it seems one of the biggest things with the coils conversion is getting the correct coils

FWIW Bosch coils are just rebadged Eldor coils so if those are easier to get, get those.

I disagree. It’s not the coils it seems to be something to do with production date of the vehicle

The motors and components are exactly the same. You're making this harder than it has to be.

It has to be something to do with the springs inside the extended boots not making contact with the plugs. I have one that is a bit "off" but I just stretched it out and it's been fine.

I’m not the only one…people have run the same products are their cars with no success.
Even someone on the N55 platform said the same thing…it’s hit or miss…

Offers 4x the spark over oem coils (more than the b58 offers), and they’re direct fit…aka no headaches and wondering if it’ll work or not.

Seems like the better solution imo. And they’re under turners lifetime warranty…

I’m gonna buy a set
I could have swore when I clicked the link you shared yesterday, I saw 4x spark energy and twice the spark current listed on their site. Then in your other thread, you asked them for some data supporting it. I just clicked the link again, and now says nothing about 4x spark energy or twice the spark current - it just says higher spark current and longer spark duration. Am I misremembering what I saw yesterday because you said 4x the spark over oem coils in your post, or did they quick ninja edit their site content? Did anybody else see that yesterday?

Edit: adding screenshot from today. Unfortunately I didn't think to screenshot it yesterday.

I remember seeing 4x the spark as well. So you’re not crazy….or we both are.

The guy at IP ended up giving me a 20% off coupon I may end up pulling the trigger if my tuner says it’s worth it

4. NGK NGK 97506 gap .22
5. MHD Nexsys B58 coils dwell or option.

My installation was successful at first try but then a few days later a cable from the plug and play became loose, most likely due to the engine harness cover biting on one of the Plug and Play cables.

When the cable became loose, the car was running rough, and I consistently got the error you got below but on cylinder 4.

Ignition, Cylinder 1: Combustion time too short.

I started troubleshooting only cylinder 4 as it was consistent. I started first with the Plug and Play adapter and pushed each side all the way in and that solved the issue.

I really wanted to be sure the loose cable caused the issue so with the car running normally, I unplugged one of the Plug and Play cables from the Eldor coil on cylinder number 4 and I got error Ignition, Cylinder 4: Combustion time too short again. I plugged it back in and restarted the car normally without issues.

The car is running good after pushing in the Plug and Play cable and I lightly modified my engine harness cover a few inches, so it does not bite the cable.

My suggestion is to start looking to see if you get a consistent cylinder number and start with the cabling and move down to the spring contact. Compare the one is not working against the coil/boot/spring that is not giving you codes.

1. Check Plug and Play.
2. Check the spring compared to another boot with spring that is not showing codes.
3. Check the coil. Move it around and check if you get the code on the cylinder you moved it to assuming you move it to a cylinder that does not throw a code.
4. I would even go as far as plugging in the OEM coil on cylinder 1 and leave the rest on B58 coil with OEM dwell just to rule out the coil. (up to you if you want to do that)
5. I would not check the spark plug since you say they work with your OEM coils but who knows but if you do just buy one spark plug and check if the code goes away.
