Hey Paul,

eBay. I don't think they are genuine but I've had no issues with mine. Been on my 640d previously and now this car too.

They seller I got them from doesn't habe anymore but I just did a quick search and found these...

Hey bud, I have the standard exhaust that has had the backbox and resonator modified. Looking from underneath the car, you can't see where they have cut into the top of the backbox and rewelded it. Not entirely sure what modifications they do - it's their secret so they don't let you watch.

The car wasn't 'slow' when stock but now it has transformed into something else! The power is crazy! It just pulls and pulls. Need to get it on a Rolling Road and get some Draggy times going. The charge pipe was added to ensure more reliability. I've heard mixed comments saying the stock charge pipe is fine and others have said it needs to be replaced. For piece of mind I decided to replace it.

Driving the car now - it feels like a new car and I haven't stopped smiling! The noise it now makes too, is great. I have had the backbox and resonator modified by PCW a while ago which just added to how good it sounds. Maintenance wise, I'm due to do an interim oil change in 3,000 miles or so and may look at changing the spark plugs to NGK 94201's gapped to .022

Really pleased with what Evolve did. I've dealt with them a few times in the past and as always, great service. They give you that confidence that you can trust them with your pride and joy!

New Body Kit Fitted...

So the Maxton V2 splitter that I put on recently failed on me. Even though it was secured very well, the middle flexed too much at motorway speeds, came loose and became some what of a plow.

I started to look at other alternatives and came across a company called Sterling Automotive.

Initially I wasn't a fan of the M Perf Splitter but more recently it's grown on me. I went for this, the side skirts and the M5 style rear diffuser. All parts in gloss black. The new splitter is very well made and not as 'bendy' as the Maxton one. The quaility and fitment on all the parts was second to none. I read up on the BMW fitting instructions for the bodykit parts - just like the OEM parts, these have the grooves, tabs and clips etc in the right places so fitting them wasn't too difficult, but still a 2 person job!

Looking at it now all fitted up, it makes the car look so much better. I wrapped the reflectors on the diffuser in gloss black too - Prefer the look this way.

Fog Light Tint...

Decided to tint my front fogs to give it that sort of stealth look when they're off. Went for a medium smoke grey tint as I still wanted a good amount of light to shine through when I do use them (very rare though).

For a quick DIY, I think it came out quite good.

Sorry to bring up this old post. Been looking to see which is the best OBD device is I can use with my G30 and BimmerCode. I have a vgate pro one I used on my F10 but coding features I think are limited on G30s. Where did you buy the UniCarScan one from if you don't mind me asking? Looks like it's a better option…

Sounds like the best option. Really want to get some bits coded now mainly:

M sport logo
Disable start/stop
Enable rear DRLs all the time
Anything else useful it lets me.

Then need to find someone local who can enable full screen CarPlay for me. Know this isn't possible through BimmerCode.

Let me know if you find out how to enable the rear DRLs. On my other cars (F30 and F06) it was quite straight forward to do but haven't been able to figure it out on this one yet. I did look online but I wasn't able to find out what to change in expert mode.

I just had full read of your build thread! Good work, I'm thinking of sizing up from my m140i to a 540i and there is one in the exact same colour locally for sale! Im debating changing from the small hot hatch life and getting back into the larger cruiser life and enjoy a bit more comfort in life! It's hard to decide if changing away from the 1 series with similar power mods running stage 2 MHD into a bigger car with same engine but a much heavier chassis. I do like the idea of the added traction of the xdrive system. How do you find yours now on a spirited backroads drive, if thats something you can comment on of course?!

Have you considered the xDelete upgrade too at all on yours?

How are you finding the car after some miles with the MSS springs on the adaptive suspension? Has any issues arisen yet as a result of the lowering springs?

I wasn't sure on Bluestone Metallic when I bought the car over the phone and only seeing pics online. Once I saw it in the flesh, I think it's one of the best colours in the G30 (but I'm bias lol

)

Being 4wd, it allows you to really push it and "attack" the road and gives you confidence knowing you'll come out of the bend facing the correct way. Off the line from standstill - it gets away very quickly and launch control is so good! I drive down a back lane twice a day when I go into the office - always have a smile on my face

I haven't considered xDelete - Is this something you would do?

MSS Springs - It has definitely improved how the car handles in my opinion. The floaty feel that xdrive saloons have has done. In the bends, you can chuck it in and it just grips and you can kind of feel it - the boat like roll has been eliminated. One of the main reasons I went for MSS was that they are height adjustable so you can set the desired height you want. I've had Eibach springs in the past but you have to wait for them to settle and sometimes you don't achieve the ride height you want. The MSS springs are manufactured by Eibach so gives you piece of mind that it's a quality product. Not had any issues really - I've scrapped the bottom of the splitter a few times on some high speed humps but that's it.

Smoked and Dynamic Side Mirror Indicators -

I had been toying with the idea of tinting the indicator lenses on the mirrors. I then found a set that were already smoked out, plus with the added bonus of being dynamic. The whole process of changing them over wasn't too bad -biggest concern was trying not break any clips on the mirror caps and also trying not to break the mirror glass. The actual indicator is attached to the mirro cap with 2 small torx screws.

Happy with the end result of this little change

In terms of brightness, they are not any dimmer then the originals. My initial thoughts were they actually looked brighter. They look so much better behind a darker lense, in my opinion

I then found a set that were already smoked out, plus with the added bonus of being dynamic. The whole process of changing them over wasn't too bad -biggest concern was trying not break any clips on the mirror caps and also trying not to break the mirror glass. The actual indicator is attached to the mirro cap with 2 small torx screws. Happy with the end result of this little change (Last pic is the before/after) There is a video posted on my IG.
