Called the Genius for the third time once I saw it had moved but he had no updates. He was mentioning something about the "port" but I told him it said "in transit." He said to call back on Wednesday to find out which vessel it's been assigned to. I saw someone in the G80 section had posted a schedule of all the ships leaving Bremerhaven for the next month. One is scheduled to leave on the 7th or 8th and I'm hoping that's the one my car will be put on. I might just wait to call the Genius again until after that date for the carrier info since they still may not have the info if I call on Wednesday. So basically I'll call back a week from today. |

I am very close to cancelling my order due to some of the posts in a few threads. I placed my order on June 2nd and it's still "scheduled for production." My build date was moved from end of July to end of August. Given that I essentially ordered a fully loaded M550i and many of you have a stop sale or other issues, I have a feeling I won't even see the car until November or December.
Earlier today I reached out to the dealership for clarification and may seek other avenues. There really is not rhyme or reason to anything anymore as later builds seem to be built before earlier builds. |

I've had some work done there sine I work nearby, but only because it was serious stuff and I didn't feel comfortable driving home. The old water pump, limp mode stuff. It's a nice place but their selection is always towards the lower Series models. The clientele seems to buy intro models of the 1-5 Series models, and their showroom reflects that. What I'm getting at is I think they're a high volume dealer of those low volume cars that probably are selling like hot cakes. Maybe there's more money to be made by prioritizing allocation for a couple of fully loaded 330is than for one M550i. I'm just spitballing here and I don't know the ins and outs of how a dealership work but it could be the exact opposite of what you might be assuming. Maybe my dealer was super lucky and had allocations already submitted and were planning on speccing an M550 within the next few days until I walked in and placed the order. It's possible they already had a spot in the production line and were just waiting for the GM to spec one out to his liking and that's why production began so soon for me. Maybe other dealers weren't planning on ordering a bunch of M550is and instead used those for a bunch of X3s and X5s, given how SUVs have been selling, and OP BMW just either bumped your allocation use to next month or assumed you didn't need it ASAP. Again, just spit-balling but I'd hold off on bailing out just yet. if anything, wait until my car gets in. More like WHEN my car gets in. I just remembered I ordered the carbon fiber spoiler and that's something they install on the US port, if I'm not mistaken, so that's another 2-3 days delay in getting to the dealer. Or maybe it's installed at the dealer? Still, a day or two extra. After looking at the shipping schedule, if I'm lucky to make it on to a boat this week or next week, it won't be here until late-August. Then probably a week or two to get here and be prepped at the dealer? I'm looking at first week of September before I can even kick the tires. If you're a month after that, that might not be TOO bad, but that varies on the person. When I called Perillo, Westmont, Knauz, Patrick, and a few other Chicagoland BMW dealers, most told me not to expect it until late-September or early October. Just like you. So maybe my dealer was the exception, as I mentioned earlier, and was already ordering an M550i of their own but I came and took that allocation and it was submitted early on. I posted a link to a dealer in PA (Otto's BMW, I think) who has a 22 M550 in their showroom. It's there and there are real-life pictures of it and not just the stock image placeholders many dealer sites use when the car is in transit. So I really wonder when that car was built and shipped to have already been in a showroom some time last week. My advice: hang on a bit longer. I don't think any member has their MY22 550i as yet so we are in the same boat as you until it gets here. I'd still put the heat on your SA at OP BMW and get an answer as to who bumped you back (OP BMW or the factory?) and for what reason. Worst comes to worst, I'll talk to my SA who sold us two cars before and see if they have any more tricks to get an allocation. It was this time, last month that I placed my order so I imagine they still have some allocations this month |

Actually, as luck would have it, my status just changed. I'll create a thread with the dates to help other guys out with the timeframes.

My m5 comp has been at the port since the 24th of November. It was scheduled to arrive on the 28th of November to the dealership. Now all they saw is the processing facility at Baltimore said they’re waiting for a shipment of RAM modules and it may come soon. Anyone have any similar issue at the Baltimore port ?

I got lucky with mine coming in 9.21.
It is going in te sho for a faulty sensor that stops the car from rolling out of my garage on random occasions. No warning sounds. It's a great safety feature but can't even band aid it by sutting it off. omeone suggested it is "working" and uses wood blocks to roll over. Obviously this i iaccusrate. Good lucjk and congrats on deliveries. If you decide to take off RFT's I have two brand new Michelin '19 AWS 3+. I bought four thinking my car was coing in squared but was wrong. |

Well, crap.
My M550i status changed to 182 - "Hand over to carrier" this morning! Yippee, it's done and on the way. But wait, now it has a big red STOP SALE. WTF?? It's the dreaded Receiver Audio Module issue, which according to the BMW bulletin, only applied to certain 2021 cars. I guess it metastasized and spread to 2022. |

Reading the forums, it is hard to predict when you will receive your car. Not trying to be a downer, hopefully things will improve and your wait will be short!
