Dash Speakers Remove/Replace
Hi all, Happy New Year.
I am considering replacing the dash speakers myself. I have checked for instructions and watched a few videos but am somewhat intimidated. From what I have seen the dash trim and IDrive unit must be loosened/removed. I am concerned I will damage something. Have any of you done this and if so any tips/tricks you can share would be greatly appreciated. |

I have done it a few times. If you follow the videos on you tube you’ll be fine. Important not to disconnect the passenger airbag as it will throw up a warning light. Also use a magnetic bit to remove the iDrive unit so as they don’t drop into the dash.

Thanks Chuck. I got up the nerve and pulled it off today. Took my sweet time and proceeded with an abundance of caution. Taped up the upper dash molding used a couple of MF towels between the molding and the IDrive etc.
I don't think the the us spec cars have the connection you referred to at least mine did not. |
