I had the same thing happen to me in the past few days. 2018 530e G30.

Went into esys and removed 5ap and 8s4 and recoded KAFAS4, FLM 2x, and BDC BODY. Glare free worked. Then I coded the rest of the car using bimmercode and a few days later glare free stopped working. I never touched the KAFAS module in Bimmercode, but I did adjust angel eye brightness in light modules.

A few minutes ago I went into esys and it wasn't showing the KAFAS module at all! Only 28 modules loaded with the same VO. Then I went back to bimmercode and recoded KAFAS while changing one single setting.

Voila -- esys shows 32 modules again with KAFAS4 being there.

My guess is that the kafas module(s) went into an error state and defaulted to basic HBA. Bimmercode cleared the errors and they came back. I'm going to inquire about that bulletin with my dealer.

EDIT: I'll test anti-glare tonight.

Thanks. I think mine is working correctly but I've reached out to Almaretto once again to check it out. He was supposed to look at it today but he has blown me off again. One of these days I'm going to find a coder that is reliable and wants my money.

Just buy a $25 ENET cable on Amazon with next day delivery, and download esys 4.33 online. You can be up and running on a laptop in 30 min by following the instructions. Then go to youtube and you never need a coder again.

I'm tempted. It's frustrating. As my father said, if you want something done or done right, do it yourself.

I've been coding bimmers for 10+ years. Started on an E46 330Ci ZHP, then e92 and e90 and now G30. I've changed hundreds of settings on those cars and it's fun to tinker with them, and try new things.

You're better off learning and playing with the car, then depending on strangers over the internet to do it correctly in one shot.

Joe,
this place can do it, and is very reliable.
https://www.codemybimmer.ca/g-chassis-coding/
They set me up the first time, and then I lost it after a software update at the BMW dealer, so I had Almaretto do it the second go around...but yeah, it was like pulling teeth to get him to respond and finally get an appointment scheduled....

codemybimmer was super responsive and easy to work with, even though they are Hong Kong based, he was very accommodating and supportive.

Thank you Dave. I will reach out and hopefully coordinate this weekend.

If you guys figure out why this is reverting back, I would appreciate an update! Mine went back after I used bimmercode but it my mind, that shouldn't have affected this feature.

Is there any damage/alteration/contamination of the windscreen interior or exterior within the camera area (incl installed devices such as a radar detector)? Any bugs or debris between the glass and camera lens? Have you had the windscreen replaced?
Thanks. The windshield and the cameras are as clean as can be. The windshield has not been replaced under my ownership and is in good shape. I have not received any check control messages, just the faults discovered by my coder on the screen shots I posted.

What do you make of those faults? He cleared them. I was thinking they could have been normal environmental faults. Do they indicate something more to you? Could they just be registered because of, for example, fog?
Circling back because I'm experiencing this on an LCI…

Condensation causes it to inhibit ADB and revert to traditional HBA functions until the heating elements have cleared the glass and sufficient time has passed.

That's interesting, I'm going to keep an eye out for it. I just recoded KAFAS4, FLA l&r and BDC_BODY and it's back. Let's see how long it lasts.

When you lost it, what was it doing or not doing?

It was just turning on and off both high beams and being very cautious about it. I think it was because I used Bimmercode and it didn't respect my VO coding, even though it should have. Either that, or an error with Kafas. I'm waiting to see if it happens again.

UPDATE : It worked for days beautifully after recoding KAFAS, lights & BDC Body. Today I coded NB_EVO (navi) with BimmerCode for the first time since and immediately the anti-dazzle went away.

For whatever reason bimmercode messes up this feature if you touch the nav. You can code the nav first for whatever you want via BimmerCode and then use esys to restore the feature, but you cannot go the other way around.
