Tunes on Non-BMW 3rd party warranty

Has anyone had experience with a tune and a non-BMW third party warranty? Many third party warranties don't require you to go to a BMW dealer, so the logic would be they would be less likely to notice the tune..kinda shady, but i kinda like the idea lol.

as long as you dont tell them about the tune, or remove it before the repair. I don't see how they can know

Who did you go with and what are the terms and pricing if you don't mind sharing? I have a year left on CPO so need to start thinking about this. I will probably just buy another two years unlimited miles of BMW CPO from the dealer for $4,000.

Even bmw dealers themselves are known to not check whether an ecu has been tuned before selling a car as cpo so a 3rd party I'm sure you're OK.

I went with roadvantage, it's what the local dealer sells at their Porsche and BMW stores..it's such a solid warranty, and 100k miles is more than enough.

Thanks for this I appreciate it. So if I am comparing, that was $3,500 for 96 months vs $4,000 for 84 months CPO. +100k miles vs unlimited which really doesn't matter. After market has $100 deductible and no deductible for CPO. Definitely something to think about.

With aftermarket you don't HAVE to go to a dealership which is nice if you're tuned..

With aftermarket you don't HAVE to go to a dealership which is nice if you're tuned..
Yeah, that's good to know. I have a really good BMW only Indy. That said, I'm not worried about the dealer and the tune. They have no issues with it. For me, the convenience of the dealer is appealing. Drive in, grab loaner, drive out.

The other consideration is my indie is not going to direct bill.

That Roadvantage Elite plan says it covers suspension- the BMW CPO does not. That's a nice perk and, if you've got DHP, a money saver. Is there a directory with Roadvantage dealers out there?
