2022 M550i xDrive Order Placed (Jan 2022)

Just placed an order today for my third M550i xDrive. I had two 2021's last year (Bernina & Dark Graphite), but had to transfer out of both of them for different reasons. Both of those were in-stock units. I really wanted my next one to be white, but with inventory levels the way they are, it's been impossible to find one. So figured I'd order one! Last time I ordered a BMW was pre-pandemic. Things certainly have changed. I managed to get a few percent off and buy rate, which apparently is a steal nowadays (unfortunately can't share dealer info for obvious reasons, sorry!). I'll share progress throughout the journey. I'm in Week 6 production. Very excited!

Thank you! I was actually planning for 4-5 months since I'm on the West Coast, but that would be great if it's sooner!

Yeah, east coast is 2-3. But who knows! Anything could happen.

Nice welcome back. Yeah I would plan on waiting a long time and just be pleasantly surprised if sooner. Hold ups for RAM are taking a month+ right now for cars.

Thanks man! Nice to hear from you. Yeah that's what I figured. But I kept my build pretty basic (no Nappa, no DAP, etc) so hopefully that helps lol

Thanks man! Nice to hear from you. Yeah that's what I figured. But I kept my build pretty basic (no Nappa, no DAP, etc) so hopefully that helps lol

After giving it some thought I figured I'd do it right and go with the Nappa with vented seats and massaging seats. Not in any real rush so even if it causes delays should be okay!

Strangely, my order had gone into 112 status for the last few days but suddenly bounced back to 111 today. So I took advantage of the opportunity and changed the wheels to the 20's. Hopefully this is the last of any other changes 😂

Congrats - I got super lucky found an in-transit to dealer Alpine white 2022 m550i in Dec (literally only one in all of FL) and called before Christmas to put a deposit on it and got it just before new years! Its gorgeous/ very similar to your build but black nappa interior. Just curious, what was wrong with your previous ones? So far the only thing I've noticed weird on mine is the siriusxm radio is glitchy, but I barely use that.

You got super lucky - congrats!!! My order is now in the week 10 build slot due to delays. No real issues with either of the previous two M550's (first one only had random HK bass issues that I had the dealer fix early on). First one I transferred though because we were buying a house and needed to lighten up the credit, and second one I transferred to a family member because they loved it and the color wasn't doing it for me. They say third time's a charm, so looking forward to this one! 😁

I ordered mine back in Jan 2022, and after many delays it finally completed production today and is awaiting carrier assignment.

Hopefully I can take delivery early July.

Just thought I would add to this thread:

Placed an order for a 540i around last week of January. Just took delivery in Ohio last week, for roughly a five month delivery time.

Super happy with the car. Kelly BMW was great to deal with.
