exhaust upshift growl..

When I hear some other bmw speed pass me and the car upshifts I hear a small growl almost like it has a BOV but I know our cars doesn't use BOV.

Is the sound coming from the aftermarket exhaust or the down pipe change?

intakes and downpipe make noises more noticeable. i get them from my resonator delete
