Are you planning on doing any additional mods down the line or ONLY jb4?

If you plan for any additional mods later on (beyond downpipe decat) I strongly recommend getting a flash tune instead as you'll simply have to pay for that eventually so might as well get a tune on a platform you can grow on


With that said, if the max you plan on going is downpipe + fbo exhaust and you already have a 30i (as opposed to 20i) then the jb4 (provided you get the Bluetooth module) is as good as most flash tunes in 90% of cases.

I've got a B48 whatsapp group if youre interested, started originally with me and VipinLJ on the g20 forums with his map6 which (with e30 blend) maxes out his stock turbo with no supporting exhaust mods (wastegate fully open after 4000rpm and running into fuel trim issues meaning fuel pump is maxing out, all with stock downpipe and exhaust).

B48 support /info is far more plentiful in the g20 section as most guys with G30 are running the B58 or the N63.

Thx so much! Im coming from a FBO N55 on e85 about 3 years ago and just jumped back to the BMW platform, unfortunately I was only able to purchase a 530 as of right now and just looking for some extra ponies to help

can i get the whatsapp group? i have g30 530i LCI- i have JB4 installed, intake installed, and i want to install the catless that i bought..would love to pick people brain and learn more about running e30.

Hey man,

Same here owner of 530i.

My recommendation would be to go ecu tune, much more stable and enjoyable.

I had ventura tuning ( piggy bank) fried my spark plugs and car had to go to the dealership.

After that got BM3 stage 1 and much more happy with it, the car is just much more smoother.
