Today I just received mine M550 G30 LCI and I was able to drive it like 100 miles.... so far my impressions is that I think I found "the right car".
I was driving my M340 for like year and half and the car was excellent, got full package, the car was beast, the consumption was perfect... but there was still something missing... my old car was CLS 55 AMG v8 so I guess the missing part here was the engine... and today after I drove the M550 I can say it's the right car, like everything in this car just perfectly fits me, the smooth ride on comfort, the perfect v8 sound on sport plus... It just this car is really peace of art.. I can't wait for tomorrow to go around with it and drive it again.
About performance of the car I can say that my m340 was definitely slower but whenever I push hard on sport plus the m340 was just start jumping a bit quicker and rushing, while the m550 is doing it in more smooth way, which I actually like it .
So far very good impression.. love the car <3

Congrats. I was considering the E63 overthe M550 but was let down by the questionable reliability of the E63. I will re consider the M550

I have had my M550 for about a month and 1200 miles. You pretty much described my feelings for the car.

I think MB has stopped making most of their V8 cars for sure including E63. Chip shortage.

Yup. Now only the C63/s is left on their website.
