Question Single size 18 inch summer wheels?

Hello,
I have recently got my g31 530dX and would like to get 18' wheels for summer. Currently I have oem 17' single size (7,5jx17) wheels with winter tires on it.

So the question is, can I use the single size variants of the 18' wheels for summer?

As far as I understand, BMW sells the single size variants as winter sets (with winter tires) and double size (wider rear wheels) wheels, the same styling, for summer. Is it just an option or I must have a double size wheels for summer in order to not mess up the dsc, auto transmission etc.?

Now I know that with winter tires, one should use single size, otherwise the auto transmission may act up. But is it the same with the summer wheels? Meaning, do I HAVE TO use double sizes, or I can just put summer tires on the single size wheels and be ok?

The particular wheels are styling 662M black. There are variants:
Single size - 8jx18 et 30.
Double size - front 8jx18 et30 and rear 9jx18 et44.

Thank you!

No problem using single sized summer too.

Thank you for your answer.
I think so, too. It is logical. But is there any official information on this from BMW?

All the other 18" wheel sets for the G31 are 18x8 ET30 both front and rear so it's must be okay.

You can certainly choose to buy 8j wheels front and rear and use summer tyres you will have no issues whatsoever.
I would recommend getting wider rear wheels and putting the wider tyres for better handling and stability at high speeds, that is 245 front tyres and 275 rear tyres.
