Bimmercode Expert Mode
I have a 2018 530i. I bought an OBD and the full Bimmercode software so I could recode a few things. The most important to me was to code the easy egress option. That's when the seat goes back upon opening the driver door to make it easy to get out and goes back to the recorded position when the door is closed. There isn't an option to code that in standard mode and I was wondering if it can be done in Expert mode and if so, does anyone have a cheat sheet for Expert mode for my car?

Can you share which OBD you got and where did you buy it from. Very interested to know if you were able to finally get the easy entry coded and working. Please keep us posted, I'm thinking of doing the same. Mine is a 2021 M550i so a slightly different model but still a 5 series. Thanks! |

Started with a Veepeak. It had very limited access to coding. Then got the recommended OBD LinkCX. I was then able to access all the options that displayed but there was no option for coding the driver seat. I reached out to an on line coding outfit (codemybimmer) Their reply was that they haven't had much success with this feature on the G30 chassis. I'm betting it can be done in expert mode but I don't know how to use it without a cheat sheet.

It's a bit slow loading and coding, but I dont really have anything to compare to, so might be the same for all. No problems with it yet. |

I use the MHD Black (WiFi), and it's super fast and shows all options.
There is also the modBMW which is essentially the same hardware. All those dongles can be used with BimmerLink, Bimmercode, BM3, MHD, MG Flasher and xHP. And work great on my girlfriends F31 as well.... |

I did it more than a year ago using Esys but it also made the backrest of seats steeper which made ingress and egress much more uncomfortable The parameters I've modified are related with M5 seats that maybe the reason. So I'll appreciate if you can tell me the parameters you have changed. Thanks.

Holy cow, 20+ years ago I owned a 1999 WS6 TransAm, and I had a handheld obd device where changes can be made to the car. Deleting engine codes, changing rear-end gears, tire size changes, etc Does anything like this exist anymore? I must be getting old, because all this coding talk sounds scary !
