Commonly it's 5-7 weeks from end of production to delivery to dealer on east coast US. The world we currently live in is uncommon.

5-7 from end of production? From what I saw on other posters, it was roughly 5-7 from when it entered production. Still holding out hope for end of November…

Good luck with that. There are some time consuming events after production. Transporting to the port, waiting for a ship, crossing the pond, getting unloaded, time at VPC, waiting for transport, transportation to dealer all add to the time and are subject to delays.

Mine finished production on 10/21 and is still at the port in Bremerhaven. The next likely ship doesn't leave until 11/10.

Yeah, that's what I was told. That how soon I got it depended on when it made the transport ship. If the timing worked out, End of November, if it didn't, then ….

Where can you see about the ship schedule? I haven't seen anything about that.

At this time, it's not just about getting the car built and on a boat. It's about having all the necessary components installed before they'll sell you the car.

Regardless, good luck to you and everyone else waiting on a new build.

Yes, I am hoping that they have all the parts for the features I've chosen. I was hoping it will be good since they took off the parking assistant plus with 360 camera view from the 5 series line...

I did get a scare a few weeks ago when I saw they were removing HUD as an option... But saw that was limited to the 3 series...

Still cruising fingers 🥳

I don't think the dealers set your expectations up very well lol. We started production about the same time and I don't plan on getting mine till end of December

Parking Assist is now available on 5 series, at least it is on the m550i

Yeah, the M variants have retained it. I wavered between the the 5 series and m440 gran coupe because the m440 has loads of options easily added and was cheaper than the 5. I couldn't find one to test drive, and the pictures of those beaver teeth… well, given the changes they just made to remove touch screens and park assist from the m440, it looks like I dodged a bullet

I would have liked an m550, but since I do a lot of city driving, I didn't want to get 15 mpg…. Plus if I kitted it out it would be 86 instead of 76… and the history of reliability on the v8 with turbo charge isn't all that great. I wanted to keep the car for 8-10.

Yeah, I waffled a lot, which is why I delayed on ordering until first weekend of September.

I still think 4-6 weeks from this point, awaiting carrier assignment, is reasonable. Fingers crossed for the 4

Mine was in port for three weeks and I believe others were waiting that long too. It's finally on a boat but I still need audio receiver work once the car gets to the states.

So, nearly four months between order and receipt? That's really not too bad, these days.

I'm still waiting for an allocation...

So what do you end up with getting? Mine has exactly the same production and transportation time flow as you.

Woo hoo! I checked status today not expecting it to have changed, and it says I'm transit!!

I'll have to call the SA later and find out which ship, as the ship may not have left port yet.

I waffled on which model to get for a long time (m340, m440, 540 or 530)

I ended up picking the 530 because if I got the 540 it would have been with m sport and adaptive suspension…so would have been 76, everything else specked out was around 66/67k… ultimately, since it would be a family car, and I've already had the sports cars, I went with the slightly cheaper luxury car, at this point in my life I don't really need the superior hp… or at least that's what I tell myself

Sapphire black
Ivory white Dakota leather
Grey poplar trim
Premium package
Drivers assistance pro
Front and rear heated seats
Heated steering wheel
Rear sunshades

If I'd gone with the m340 or m440, I'd be missing enough stuff now due to the chip shortage that I'd be upset or looking to start over..

I still expect to regret not getting the 540 tricked out, every time I am going 70 and look to pass someone, but I think I can deal. That and thinking how sweet the car would look with carbon black…

Nice! My 530e was dispatched from factory on 11/8 as well and then arrived at the port. But my status hasn't been updated yet.

Mine is on the grand Orion, it's due at the port of New Jersey on 11/28 at 22:00. Not sure if that's GMT or what…

Hoping I get it between 12/4 and 12/8

I am interested in what information your SA gave you. My car made it to the port on Saturday. I called the genius line today, hoping to get an estimated time that the car arrives at my dealer. The genius had less information than I did. They didn't even know that the ship had arrived.
