B58, ER catted downpipe, stage 1 OTS bm3, stage 2 xHP. I was cruising at 85mph, kickdowned, lost power and got a drivetrain malfunction. Gas pedal didn’t seem to do anything. The car slowly downsides to 2nd and stopped. I turned it off then on, error message went away. Car is back to normal. something went wrong obviously and with the car being tuned I don’t want to take it to the dealer, so what’s my next step here? TIA

41K. No not yet. I periodically scan for errors and this is the first and only time I get a misfire(s).

I've had similar codes while running custom maps.

I personally wouldn't worry about it unless it continues to happen.

But always do what you feel is right.

I can't reproduce the issue. Folks over at the f30 forum suggested it's kinda common when the tank is low on fuel. I'm going to try again when the tank is almost empty.

I had a similar issue when I tuned with bm3.... The flash file got corrupted.... I called them up and they remotely fixed it

I had the same issue where i kept getting the drive terrain malfunction and it would go away once i restarted the car. This happened twice in the span of a month.

I have a dinan stage 1 tune on it and dinan exhaust/midpipe. When i got the tune i changed the spark plugs and ignition coils and went with the NGK iridium sparks.

5 months in i got the same message and this time the error did not go away. There was a significant loss in power. Got it to the shop and turns out the spark plug on cylinder 7 was mis firing. when replaced, the 5th cylinder was misfiring. Because of the mis fire the ignition coils were functioning at about 40% capacity. I was told the solution would be to replace both sparks and coils to original bmw ones. Apparently for the g30 m550 they dont use bosch anymore and its made by bmw or some other brand, not too sure. I got them all replaced and so far all good.
