Dark Tint Film for Amber Reflectors

Just sharing. I realize I can get paint matched replacements from IND for $140, but I thought I'd take a shot at these dark tint films off eBay since I have dark car and just looking to take the edge off. Not much to lose for $11 bucks. The amber really doesn't show through as much as in the close up shot I took. We will see, need to walk up a few times in different lighting, but definitely better than the in your face amber. Just noticed that top left corner when posting this. That is going to bug me all day, hopefully just the picture, but may need to throw some heat on that corner.

But when I mentioned vinyl wrapping parts on someone elses car, paint was better although more expensive.

Not sure what you are referring to. Paint is definitely better on the bumper trim pieces and fender trim if color matching to a car that's not black as those are available in black.

EDIT - I would not exactly call this film I bought vinyl wrap either. But it is a flat area unlike bumper and fender trim, so sure, Vinyl would be fine too.

Joe, go on Amazon and try Vvivid Smoke headlight tint. Its super easy to work with, you don't need to wet anything, and you can pull off and reapply.

Pop the reflectors out of the bumper (they are attached with 3m tape), cover with the tint, put new 3m tape down and pop them back in. You won't be disappointed.

I am sure I would not, but if I am going to pop these out, I'll just get the painted ones from IND. I was trying to avoid removing them and just wanted to take the edge off the in your face amber. We will see, the car has been garaged for two months. I put these on about a month ago. The test will be when I am out and about in sunlight and walking up. I would not say this mod was pressing in general. I am still not sure about the delete in general, just feels like it is missing something?? Probably so used to seeing the amber. Here is another shot from a normal distance.

I think it looks fantastic without the amber. Much smoother. When it warms up, I definitely plan to order from IND and do it myself on the 540.

I recently pull-the-lever w/ a set of IND painted front side reflectors. It was difficult locating a vinyl wrap to match my vehicle color (bluestone metallic) in order to save a buck or two.
