G30 540i MPE upgrade worth it?

Anyone with a G30 540 upgrade to an M Performance Exhaust after having their car for a little while? Is it a noticeable difference worth the $$ spent? I have tried finding before and after videos on YouTube to see if I can hear the difference but can't seem to locate any. Thanks!

I've had the MPE on my last two 5 series ('15 535 and '17 540) and loved the sound on both. You can definitely tell the difference. Deeper and has the pops and bangs. The cost of the new bumper and the muffler wouldn't be worth it for me though.

Performance wise, you aren't going to see any differences.

Looks wise, the rectangular tips on the current version ruin it for me so that is why I replaced the MPE with Armytrix. Quad tips like the M5 and M550 are just too sick!

All personal preference though.

Got mine after having the car a few months and have had it about a year now. Just the MPE not the MPPSK. In stock form the car is silent and with the MPE it's quite lively and rips at high RPMs. Paying full retail probably not a good idea. I got mine with a decent discount at my dealer.

The diffuser portion of the bumper. The stock exhaust is smaller so when you get an MPE, you have to replace that piece with the diffuser from the M550i.

Yes, that is correct for folks with the MPE on 540i's.

I have an aftermarket diffuser and exhaust after replacing both. Picture attached.

Yeah, they price matched the diffuser from online and marked the exhaust down. Billed 1hr labor to install, but on the bright side that also means it gets a 2yr warranty.

In my opinion, you are better off getting the REMUS exhaust instead

Sounds better, same or better build quality with a lower price in most cases

I do not think BMW performance products would be as popular if they did not have the BMW brand.

Few questions if you don't mind:

The full package with the torque converter? Black Friday pricing? What did the install run you?

Opinions always seem really mixed on MPE for the 540i, even from owners. Some feel it's barely any difference to stock, some feel its a great improvement.

When I bought mine I was hoping I would be in the latter camp. Unfortunately, after running around with the exhaust flap permanently open on the stock exhaust, I felt the MPE was only about 20% increase in volume. I can only really hear it in the first 3 gears and below 40mph, and while it sounds nice, I was hoping for more.

If I was to buy again, I would get the remus or custom.

Can you send me or post a like to this exact diffuser? Love it!

interesting point.. I looked up the remus and it seem way too expensive... I cannot justify spending near 3 grand for an exhaust

I thought Remus offered an axle back that is less expensive theN MPE + Tips. I am talking axle back only so not the full Remus or full Mppsk.
I may go with just the Remus axle back. But it is back order so is the MPE from what I have gathered.

Two questions:

1) How much louder is it in comfort mode? It's very intriguing to me but I also don't want to draw too much attention driving through the neighborhood or picking up my kid from school.

2) How'd you get the discount? Just ask for it? I'm in a smaller market so not much competition for my hometown dealer without making it a regional search.

Thanks!
