I would hate to be mistaken for a 530 m sport. I would have to drive 110mph to feel better. |

I have a 540 LCI and hated the chrome badges that come on it. The 550 I think are a dark chrome so look better. I changed them to black and very happy as it matches the shadow line look. |

I have no desire to debadge mine. I even have the m logos on the sides which everyone hates. The rs7 is king of the hill- I have to admit I’d be too vain to debadge if I had one.
But I have to admit, the rear is more aesthetically pleasing with no badges, maybe even more so on bmws. |

Hey Mike. My car was optioned with a badge delete. I had the dealer put them back on. I've seen some other models over the years look "ok" with a badge delete, but I though the G30 and M550 just looked kind of blah from the ass. Just too much paint and the big ass pre LCI lights. I think the badges break it up. Here is a shot from the dealer ad for my car and what I've done with it since.

I have not debadged my car because it is a phev and I didn't some repair person accidentally touching the electric lines.
But I adore the idea of debadging an M550!!! A total stealth car. The fact that it then looks very similar to all other but mostly lesser BMWs is great. |

J/K I do find the G30 people most likely to debadge are 530 owners.

I do like being a little stealth as well however...which is why I somewhat preferred the 550i badge on my old f10, not being able to tell it was a turbo V8 vs the M added to my current M550i to flash it up a bit and set expectations...nevertheless, this car demands some respect for sure and it balances the trunk a bit. Also, it's factory, not some customer add on. I say keep it! The Audi badges are typically in locations below the tails and better locations to debadge, imo. |

I would love if normal people are mistaking my m550i for an 530 m sport and ordered mine without any badges. Even ordered the rear view mirrors in body color to blend in better. Satisfied with that only an expert can tell that it has an V8 engine by looking at the exhaust pipe and the cerium grey grill and side blades.

I could care less what people think. A lot of people debadge to hide or mislead. Not all, but most do. When I see a debadged car I look closely for other things to see what it actually is. I can tell an M550 in seconds, especially if it has 668M's which I know can be added. Debadging is often similar to putting a fake ///M5 on a car. Not always, but can be in the same ballpark for cheesy owners. No badge can be viewed as not forthcoming and an M5 badge is just posing. Pick your poison. But it's your car so do whatever makes you happy.
I paid for it, I have the beast under the hood, and I like seeing it and knowing it is an M550 when I walk up.

I drive a 540 M Sport and I left on that it came with and deleted nothing.
If I went for the M550, I would do the same. I do not like the badges I have seen on some 530/540/550 on the front 1/4 panels I doubt they are factory installed, but in my area, I have seen many cars with them sp perhaps they were. At the end of the day, its your car, delete what YOU want. |

Anyway, I’m having fun and the debadged thing is for me. Even worse is the black on black badges where you can’t read them, unless the angle is perfect. Last edited by choppedliver; 01-17-2022 at 05:04 PM.. |

Guys thank you for all the excellent feedback. I am the kind of guy that likes to be understated and actually prefer that people dont know whats under my hood. My RS7 looks incredible debadged but anyone who knows anything about them can tell what I have by looking at the Calipers but most people dont and thought it was an A7 which is fine by me. Joe's pictures now have me convinced to leave the badges on it looks 100% better very dffierent then the RS7 results, Thanks Joe!!!!
