2018 530e M Sport, joining you all.
Hey guys, just wanted to share a story. I made a complete impulse buy on a 2018 530e M Sport II Carbon Black/Ivory Dakota during thanksgiving weekend. I was only going to look and left with a car.
I was mainly looking for a zero options base model strictly for commuting (as I have other vehicles to drive when I'm feeling more spirited). However when I saw this car I didn't mind spending the extra money. Black on White has always been my favorite modern combo--the M Sport just happened to be a bonus. I was blown away in every aspect. And to think I was considering a Chevy Volt!! I've had the car around three weeks now and was able to install window tint, painted reflectors and 7-Series 20" M Sport wheels. Lip spoiler is currently in transit. Sadly haven't gotten it washed since so the tires look dirty, and the car is begging for a drop. I have been in contact with Eibach, but there is no firm ETA on the release for their Pro-Kit and i'm intent on waiting for that. It is, however, in final phases of production. I have had MULTIPLE bad experiences in the past with H&R and refuse to put on their set (Ride is too rough). But I have had excellent experiences with Eibach, and i'm not looking for a full coilover setup. Also Dinan is a bit too modest for me. I really just want to stick with the OEM++ look for this car, as I intend to drive it 15k miles a year on crappy LA roads. Glad to join you all early on, as i'm sure this community will surely blossom over the next few years. I know this isn't the right place for it, but i'm attaching photos since i'm positive you all will ask sooner or later! |

Welcome. I currently drive a 330e and have a 530e on its way to me (should have it before the end of the year...it is currently on a ship off Mexico on its way to its California port).
I struggled with my order. I really, really liked the carbon black exterior with nappa ivory interior but ultimately chickened out on keeping a white interior clean and went for bluestone exterior with nappa mocha interior and leather dash. I am sure I will have buyer's remorse on not getting the carbon black/ivory package. You, on the other hand, will not! I am sure I will enjoy mine and you will certainly enjoy yours. On my 330e I have the sport suspension. I love it but as much as I love it, my wife hates it (too rough for her). So my compromise on the 530e was to get the adaptive drive with the dynamic dampers. When I am alone, I almost always drive in sport mode so I can stiffen the suspension for me (I hope) and soften it for her when she is with me. You will find the car has plenty of pep and I predict you will love it. |

Congrats!!!
Eibach been behind in bringing in their product from Germany. AC Schnitzer do have them already if you are interested. It rides as good as Eibach, since rumor said it is also manufactured by Eibach. Let me know if you are interested.

I'm actually going to stop by your shop soon. We spoke previously about the BavSound upgrade on instagram. I'm probably not going to be able to come until after the holidays because i'm leaving town. But don't count me out, I really would love to have it done. Also, thank you for the painted reflectors, they look amazing as you can see in the photos. |

Surprisingly, ACS spring retail for $460, $20 more than Eibach. And it says will drop about 25-30mm front and 20-25mm rear. Their catalog also said, M Sport lowering may be 5-15mm less. Yea, I remember you from our conversation on IG. Enjoy the holiday first. Just hit me up when you are ready. My mind is on Holiday mode already too. Haha. I will borrow your car picture for my IG if you don't mind.

AC Schnitzer lowering springs for 530e
Quote:
So AC Schnitzer have lowering springs for the 530e-hybrid? Not the 530i, but the 530e with added weight in the back due to the batteries. Can't find them anywhere you see. /SoleOne |

It is not a full electric battery pack size. It will be the same as having 1 adult in trunk.

I also don't mind about being 530e specific, as i'm used to much much more aggressive set ups with lots of rubbing For me, i just can't stand looking at my 530e as it sits. It looks like a 4x4. |

However, a member in this forum added non-specific to the hybrid, H&R lowering springs to his 530e, ending up with at noticeable difference in tyre-gap front/rear, possibly due to the weight-difference. And I REALLY don't want that! /SoleOne |

However, installing non-specific to the 530e lowering springs isn't a option in Norway (where I live), as it would be impossible to get the DMV to approve it. (Which by law you have to in Norway). So I guess I`ll have to wait till someone makes a kit for the 530e.. |

Looks like you changed the wheels. I like the 5 spoke wheels and want to get them on my 540i when it arrives. But figured some 550 owner will eventually sell them to upgrade. My car was ordered with 19" all season. Which is good for now since it should be delivered this month before the snow.

Hello,
Just spoke with Eibach in their office California. They do not the right Springs made for model 530e as of today. They are willing to put one on R&D if a member is willing to go to their site for free trial installation. They are at Tel: 800-507-2338.
