Appreciate the replies and thoughts so far. I think the C7 is likely going to be the car and I'll just mash the throttle and not be easy on it, or the BRZ supercharged might actually do the trick...or if I decide to make my car a financial priority: a CPO 991S (apparently the 3.8 is pretty torquey)

the other suggestions:

Lotus Evora S ( Supercharged) (too impractical to be my only car and too pricey here in Canada)
ZL1, mustang or SS (too big and heavy)
Older M6 V10 (too big and heavy)
Dodge Viper (too impractical to be only car)
014/13 CTS V Coupe ( Supercharged) (too big and heavy)

What about Audi S5 with 3.0L supercharged... or even RS5?

Still porkers and the RS5 doesn't have much low end torque (but it's a great motor).

A current C63? I often worry now that if I decide to go for something else that's NA than it will likely not have the torque this thing does.

444 lbs feet of torque and 480 hp for the peformance package. The torque, sound, usability and refinement is like no other.

Next move from a 981 Cayman S?

Where does one go from a 981 Cayman S for similar money if one wants to buy a year 2011 and up normally aspirated, lightweight sports car with a manual transmission?

When I look out on the automotive landscape I really see nothing out there other than maybe an e92 M3, but not sure that qualifies as light.

I've already ruled out the C7, not my cup of tea, any other suggestions?

Give the Alfa a run, at least it's different.

BRZ or FRS are light, rear wheel drive, low center of gravity, and quick as hell on the track.

The BRZ interior is a pretty nice place to be. May not be everyone's cup of tea though, especially with Subaru engine reliability.

Seen some people thrown on a turbo, BBK, and suspension upgrades on these cars too, but they handle really well in stock form on the track.

Although not light, Ive been in a student's stock 2014 BMW Z4 35is, with dynamic suspension, on stock run flat tires. Car handling, power delivery, and braking was amazing on the track ...

Lotus Evora (would say S but you want NA), or Exige S if you're ok with going boosted?

Ariel Atom if you're willing to give up most creature comforts

Would suggest an Alfa 4C but sadly no manual in that.

As suggested, keep the CS. Or get a Caterham.

Cayman GT4

E9x M3 is the wrong direction if you are looking for lightweight sports car

The GT4 may look like a 981S, but the underpinnings are very different - obviously the engine is better, but the chassis is what is totally reworked

Hoping I get a build date soon!

You left out an important spec from your request. Whats is your budget?

If you have the means, the Cayman GT4 will rock your world ...

a 1M? i know it's twin turbo but honestly it's even more fun than a Cayman S in my experience......you won't regret it!

a Cayman GT4 would be amazing; but very tough to get.
