There have been several (many?) threads about servicing the transmission fluid in our G30s and rather than replying in each will post here. If you’re a BMW CCA member you may have seen this, if not here you go. This gives more background on what BMW calls “lifetime” fill (100k miles) and what the manufacturer recommends. If I still have my G30 at 60k miles I’ll probably change the transmission fluid then, along with the plugs.

Am I missing something in the article? It seems like it just says that he replaced his fluids and talks a bit about the process.

Among other things…“ZF themselves recommend a transmission fluid service every eight years or 50,000 to 75,000 miles”

That's old news though and a point of contention (versus BMW's 'lifetime' claim) on many a thread in the 3 series forum as I remember.
