Hi there. I’m a former owner of a 335d that killed me with emissions expenses several times, a recently an x5 that a deer took out after 200k miles. Loved that car.

Anyway, it’s a commuter car I’m looking for, with capability to drive three kids as needed although it’s not the primary for the kids. One in a car seat, two aren’t.

Has anyone had experience with the three kids, esp. with just one in a car seat?

No car seat, but I routinely transport my in-laws and adult daughter in the back seat for a couple of hours at a time. No complaints from them about comfort.

I take my kids in the back of my m550. 1 in a car seat, 1 booster, and 1 normal all in the back seat fine. Now saying that I don't do it every day but when I do no issues here. Normally have the non car seat kid sit middle.

Me too--three across no problems. Have had one car seat, one booster and an adult. Not for drives more than an hour or so, but for them it was fine. The way the 540xi has the seat belt buckles buried fairly far down in the seats is sometimes a pain, but the little bars at the base of the seat backs for the car seat clips are more easily accessible than in my wife's 2014 328xi. Now two of three grandkids are out of car seats with only one left using a booster but hopefully not for long. --Bob
